Meh... Sly is in the SEC as a token only... he is a decent coach that was put at a dead end school... that only Jackie Sherril could win at (by cheating), come on... how do you get kids to come to Starkville...plus he holds a Bama grudge because they didn't roll out the red carpet and blow him until he took the job.
Just to set the picture up. Croom, not hired because of the staff picking Shula. You remember all the racial overtones that were mentioned/exploited. Croom, bought into it lock, stock and barrell while knowing that one of the biggest proponents of hiring Shula was one Ozzie Newsome. Johnson. Fired along with DuBose. Had an agreement to receive his salary until he found another job. He was hired by The Citadel and stopped receiving money from UA. Filed suit saying "it wasn't the same job so he should still get his paycheck along with the one from the Citadel." Suit dismissed. McCorvey. Wanted HC job after Stallings left, didn't get it and took a job at UT. You look over that staff and you'll see a lot of coaches with former Alabama ties; most of them leaving with ill will of some sort of another. A bunch of mal-contents. Croom, according to a coach on staff, former players and current players has been focusing his efforts all year long on defeating Alabama. Literally, mentioning Alabama practically every practice. He's obsessed with Alabama because it is the job he wants. (note, current tense) A recruit was visiting MSU a little while back just to see if he could have a chance of landing a spot on an SEC team. Same recruit, mentioned the Alabama game vs UT as being one to watch. Johnson, walked over from about 10 yards away and said, "Alabama sucks, they'll get their ***** beat." Recruit then turns to father and says, "I've heard enough, let's go." In an interview just last week he commented on Jimmy Johns to the point of saying, "I told him he wouldn't get a shot at QB at Bama" when the subject was how Mr. Football in Mississippi made the game changing play in the 3rd quarter at Alabama. This statement, knowing full well Johns asked the staff to play RB this season to get on the field, was just another veiled shot with a racial undertone mixed in to it. Croom has turned Alabama into the NCAA 13 times in the last two years...most egregious violation was a recruiting brochure...the margin was an 1/8 of an inch too wide. That's is just the tip of the iceburg on how that staff feels about Alabama. With Croom, it's personal. Henig said so just last week in an interview. I still have respect for the contributions he made as a player and as an asst. coach. But, he has allowed his vendeta to root itself deep inside of his soul. He's no friend of Alabama, at all. Enough of this MSU talk...I'm only speaking of our game from this point on unless there is a specific question.
Enough of this. You're just like all BAMA fans. You can dish it out, you just can't take it:cry: . Nobody is supposed to criticize the Tide. Well, just understand that basically fans all over Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida and Arkansas are going to be laughing at your beloved elephants when LSU gets through wiping your butts all over Bryant Denny stadium. It will be a beautiful site.  GEAUX Tigers.
Ok, I'm handing my plate out to you. Please, fill it up. I'll start with three appetizers, if you don't mind. One, why didn't Croom ever receive mention as a Head Coach possibility until he was interviewed at Alabama. Two, what would you surmise to be the reason his interview didn't go well. Three. Brandon Thornton. Service, please.
That's all it took! I find this hard to believe. These players thrive on this type of hype. A recruit, who apparently is not well sought after and is trying to land a spot on an SEC team, walking away (apperently in disgust) because of this......?
Terry, you're starting to sound childish. However, I will just chalk that up to you being a BAMA fan. It sounds to me like you wish you had Croom as much as you go on about him.
Terry, I have a better idea. Why don't you bring all of you trash talk over to the MSU board and spare all the Tiger fans from having to read your silly rants.
If there is one thing that I don't participate in, it's trash talk. What I've posted on this forum are things I've heard since the spring of this year, and they are true. Now, I'll chose to believe things told by people like Wayne Madkin, Freddie Kitchens, Casey Clausen and Carlton Rice since they a part of the MSU program. I've spoken to Ellis Johnson many times and understand his mentality towards Alabama. He coached at The Citadel and I happen to not only support that program, but spend quite a bit of time around their practices simply because I can. If you'll kindly notice, I didn't start this thread. In fact, I asked if the members here wanted to hear what was going on in Starkville. Tuba, you jumped into this thread and said we could dish it out but couldn't take it. Am I to assume your invitation to a Bulldog forum is because of the underlying need for help? I'm sure you'll get a kick out of this...but let me share something with you. Coach Bryant was asked to define class. He said, I don't know how to define it, but it's something you know when you see it. Likewise, it is something you realize the absence of also.
