this weekend. After looking at the numbers, I believe this "great" Bama defense is nothing but smoke & mirrors. Here are the offensive rankings of the teams they have played so far.

    MTSU-111
    USM-85
    USC-100
    Arkie-55
    UF-61
    Ole Myth-104
    UT-98
    Utah St.-106
    Moo U.-112

That's an average offensive ranking of 92.5 for Bama's opponets. With their offense struggling as they are, their defense will be on the field a long time IMO. Therefore, the Tigers win 24-10.

You are exactly right. Everyone thinks it will be a low scoring game. LSU has a good offense, and we will expose the Bama D. LSU 20 Bama 10

    Couldn't agree more.

Anyone know where our offense is ranked?

I think it's closer to the truth to say that Bama's defense is just an unknown. They haven't proven they are GREAT against any offense of note, but they also haven't been proven to be a fraud. They may very well be as good as advertised. We will find out this Saturday.

You can take stats and construe them in a multitude of ways. Bottom line, it's just numbers...one of those details you can't take into a ball game when you have two SEC teams facing each other.

Last year, we didn't have the experience we have this year on the D and were dealing with a multitude of injuries and still made it one hell of a ball game. To think that virtually the same defense, with more experience, is all smoke and mirrors is deceiving yourself.

I know what kind of defense LSU fields and it's a good one. I also know that LSU has more talented depth than we do because the program at Bama is still suffering from the effects of scholarship reductions.

That being said, I feel cautiously optimistic that Bama can win this game. Why? Because talent and depth don't automatically translate into a victory just like statistics don't either.

LSU going to win because, well, we're just better than Bammer. How's that for in depth analysis !

While many of the SEC offenses are ranked low nationally, this also reflects that the SEC has very good defensve units.

The Bama defense is not a fluke. It will take a tough hard-nosed offense to beat it.

I think that LSU will win, but I expect a brawl.

Me, I put the wrong folder on my laptop this morning...the right stats are on the desktop at home....simply the wrong shared folders file.

Geez, it's Monday and it feels like it.
