...To "prove" that he is deserving of the HC position at LSU? Obviously there are people doubting his abilities. Seeing how most of the "fans" who bash him would, in the same vein, think he is the "greatest coach ever" for putting 70 on a pathetic UNT team, I think it's an interesting topic. If not to "prove anything," maybe CLM will run it up so that he can get in his mode of football... Personally, I'm not for running up a score on a severly-outmanned opponent, but after everything LSU, and this state, has been through, I say put 70 on 'em. I definately think we should have 50... in this day in age putting up 45, or so, on this UNT team would be a bit "embarrassing"... :geauxtige

Also seeing how we beat a better UNT team 52-0 with a worse LSU team in 1999... 63-0 would seem likely. But I don't think Flynn could put up those numbers... unless we're up by 50 at HT.

    I believe a 5-1 record proves enough.

I can't get a read on how he'll act here..at OSU, where they needed much ego pumping as a fanbase and a team, he did run up some scores and talk tough in the media, etc. Here, I haven't gotten the impression he'd do that to a weak team. I think it's a toss up whether he runs up the score.

Also, if the 2nd and 3rd team are responsible for many pts, that is not running up the score...they are just doing their job. If he leaves the starters in, up 35, then that's running up the score...so I guess on 2nd thought - no way he runs up the score.

and I'd agree... I'm pretty pleased what CLM and staff have done thus far this season. I'd be extremely pleased if we had beaten UT... But, pleased none the less.

I believe his only "calling off the dogs" moment comes whenever he pulls the starters--or select starters. But don't be surprised if the back-ups still continue to throw, etc. (because it's not fair to them to NOT be able to accurately show what they can do just because the team is winning big).

You have to run your offense no matter what "string" is in. Those players have to be prepared to step in if needed.

    Let me clarify...

No, he doesn't run up the score by leaving starters in just to get more numbers on the board. What happens with second and third sting, happens.

I sure hope he does... just go give our offense alot of practice. None of these rent-a-wins are ever guaranteed. I remember the tense moments with Troy last yr.
