I say don't start a single.. starter.. give them the week off to heal up... play Matt Flynn and see what he can do... Play JV and Korte (since he has played already his RS is gone right?) at RB... bring in the younger linemen... play dorsey, jackson, washington, willis on the dline, Sanders, Kuale (bringing him back), and Johnsone at LB... not sure who to start at CB because they all play.. Bring the starters back for the App. St. game to give them a chance to knock the rust off... I think the UNT game should be JV's chance to either show he can run the damn ball, or to let Korte get in there and show that he can be the new Broussard...
I play them at the most 1 quarter to keep them in game shape and ryhthm..then let 'er rip with the backups and 3rd stringers.
Personally I'd like to see Hester get some carries. He showed some decent ability last year and I don't think he's had crap handed to him this year. Maybe 1 or 2 insignificant carries. ps loco, check your pm.
I work in Denton and live 15 miles south of Denton so I'll be flying my LSU flag proudly along 35-E. La Tech put 40 on them so I don't think their going to be much of a threat to score on our defense---LSU 66 UNT 7
We need to play our starters, IMO for at least two or three quaters. Besides Addai, we couldn't establish a rythm. Put our starters in, let them get some quality team and let them gell some more...
Jamarcus and Joe need to play at the most 2 quarters. Then you play Flynn with the Oline and receiver starters for one quarter so he gets some opportunities to make plays, fourth quarter Steve Korte sets the record for carries that do not even matter. I hate this kind of football, but I think it is important that Joe gets a week off, and Jamarcus does not need to be out there once we are up. I think as soon as we get a 3 TD lead, (hopefully in the 1st quarter) JV and Shy need to get some touches to build confidence. La Tech drummed these guys last night so if we don't win by 30 with our 5th teamers in there I will be shocked. The most important part of the gameplan should be for the coaches to get some practice managing the game from all aspects. playcalling, substitutions, timeouts, everything needs work.
I have two things to say about that. 1. Alabama-Birmingham 2. Miami of Ohio You NEVER take a opponent for granted. You play your starters until you are up by three or four scores and THEN you play the reserves.
