Nope, it was the student section. That's fine, but you do the wave when the opponent has the ball as a distraction, not when the Tigers have the ball. Duhhh. I sit on the NE 20. I watched to whole thing. The student section did boo Miles. Wrong!! The wave was absolutely stupid!!! Always is and especially at that point in the game. I could see it if we are winning big, then you are bored and the fun thing could apply. Lastly, the issue was not running the ball but you run it twice killing clock and then on third down you decide to throw and we turn in over. Either kill the clock or attempt to move the ball.
Actually, it was on 3rd down that we got the big gain with Addai. It was on the following 1st down around the 40 that JaMarcus got rocked and turned the ball over. With 2 turnovers already, I think the coaches were content with a 7 point lead at halftime. Having to start deep in our own territory, I think it was a good move. However, once Addai busted the big gain, we had room to spare, less field to go, and we were going to try to move down the field (pass on 1st down). Unfortunately, the protection broke down and we turned it over again. If we would have immediately opened up passing instead of running it the first 2 downs and fumbled on our 15 instead of our 40, how much would you bet everyone would have been booing and complaining that we should have just sat on the ball to end the half?
I sat in the South endzone for the first time since I was very young yesterday. The only time the fans stood up was for the two touchdowns and after we stopped UF on first down. There was a ton of booing directed towards Miles coming from this area as well. By the way, am I the only one that thinks they put the bleachers in backwards?
Miles and Jimbo fully deserved to be booed from the opening of the second quarter until the end of the third. But doesn't mean anyone should actually do it. Booing your own team just ain't cool. Be like me and Boo him on here after the game.
I don't know who was booing, all I know is that on TV, it sounded like Miles was being booed. Which really made me angry. I think booing your own team - coaches included - is pathetic, but when you are winning, it is especially disgusting. And the announcers on CBS made some sort of comment about Miles being booed for being conservative in the last couple of minutes in the half. So if there was anyone watching that wasn't sure, they sure helped them decide. And I don't blame the announcers, but the ones that were booing because it sure sounded to me like it was towards Miles. It really pains me to have to admit to friends here that LSU has some (note, I said SOME) classless and boorish fans.
Thanks for the correction. It is easy for me to question after the plays are called. I will say that I was not happy at the time but I did not BOO!! I will always hate the WAVE!!!
At the end of the first half I was booing the refs as they ran off and I know many of the other students around me were doing the same thing because we were looking in the direction they went. So take your holier than thou crap and STFU.
