Yeah I already understand the 3 yards and a cloud of dust theory. But instead of pointing out other posts let's hear what you think. I mean you are one of the seniors on the board. You have a substantial # of posts and one would tend to think with the rep, pretty insightful. So as a board senior and without your normal smart ass, pat-me-on-the-back style of posting. What are YOUR thoughts, if any, on Miles style of coaching and/or play calling thus far in the season. Waiting on your reply, SON :thumb:

What I think about Miles' job performance would be about as meaningful as hearing Miles' thoughts on Excess Casualty Insurance claims handling. You should stick to what you know, not what you think you know. Your relative football knowlege wouldn't cover a pimple on Miles' a$$.

Playing to another team's strengths is not good coaching. I am 100% behind CLM but I am concerned that I'm seeing poor prep and lack of adjustments.

Fundamentals will beat you....too many penalties.

Playing into another team's strength will beat you....Tenn D line is very good, secondary is suspect....attack where they ain't...this isn't some Big 10 sumo match

Soft zone plays into Tenn's hand. Clausen is running timing dink and dunk routes. You have to disrupt with jamming the receivers.

It scares me to feel I know more than this staff does, and I'm no guru. We were all sitting and screaming at the TV to do the above :dis:

I give CLM cred for the things he has sheparded this team through, and I'm still behind him, but I'm concerned.

If I may interrupt for a moment,

I'd just like to make it known that, for the record, we aren't on an Excess Casualty Insurance claims handling message board.

Now back to your regularly scheduled infighting.

Ignorance is bliss and you, SabanFan, are ignorant. Your reply to my original post is taken out of context(as usual) and as usual you dodged a very direct question and turned it into my lack of football knowledge vs. Les Miles or whatever you were trying to do :hihi: :hihi: ---get real fellow and good luck with your insurance claims job :thumb:

Perhaps this was a "wakeup" call for him??? Seriously. Hear me out.

When he had end-of-game-collapses at OSU (vs La Tech and Texas), the mentality of the OSU fans aren't as demanding as we are. Those guys were THRILLED with 7-4 seasons (and that's not a knock on the OSU faithful). When you're down as long as Oklahoma State has been, you just want to see a winning record and a bowl invite. There was never the pressure on Miles to force him to have a "killer instinct".

Do I wish all coaches already come with that instinct? Sure. But some just don't have it like Spurrier and Carroll. If this game taught Miles just one thing about LSU and it's supporters, I would hope it would be that we demand our teams to play 60 minutes and play aggressively for the entire game. We'll relax once we're up by 30 with 2 minutes left to play in the game.

Well, Earl, you missed a very obvious point, but if you want my opinion of the coaching job to date, I'll give it to you. I think the performance of the entire team, including the coaching staff, has been disappointing. I am thrilled with the ASU victory but concerned about the yardage given up by the defense. I am very disappointed with the loss to Tennessee and I am concerned that a journeyman like Rick Clausen could light us up. It's the coaches job to fix the problems and I sincerely hope the defense gets better.

If you are looking for suggestions as to how to fix the problems, I can't help you. An internet forum populated by a bunch of college students and regular working stiffs is not the place for answers. We are all rank amateurs when it comes to coaching at the Division I level.
