I am pretty quiet around here and use the forum more as a source of information than anything else, but I am pissed tonight and want to use the forum to vent (since I am a contributing member I see it as my rite to do so) . I have endured LSU football through the Archer, Curley, and Dinardo days. I grew up with the "James Gang" and Eric Martin under Stovall and Arnsberger. I say this so you know that I am not some new whippersnapper that only knows LSU as the national power that we are today (even after a loss like tonight).

Here are the three things that piss me off the most tonight:

    1. Coach Les Miles - I would like to hear the half time speech that Coach Miles gave to the team. Even while the half time show was going on, I turned to my buddy and said I hope Miles isn't telling the team that "You guys (Yankee talk) are kicking a$$, let's keep having fun out there and take home this win. It was obvious that our coaching staff did not make any half time adjustments. We were OUT COACHED in the second half and I believe it was because we sat on the lead.

    2. Bo Pollini - We were aggressive during the first half and just sat on our a$$ the second half. What happened to the blitzes and stunts we were running the first half? We ran a few stunts the second half, but most of the time it seemed like we were working on our basic defenses. HORRIBLE

    3. Jimbo - What the hell were you thinking trying to run out the clock with 2 minutes left? Why did we not utilize the best WRs in the country more????

    4. UT - I hate these idiots more than ever. I can some what sympathize with Alabama (Go to hell BAMA) when they say that UT gets all the calls. What it boils down to is that FAT FULMER out coached us in the second half and I am bitter about it.

    5. Saban - Why did you leave us in such incapable hands? I am one who has defended Saban for leaving us for Miami, but tonight I am pissed at him. If he was on the field we would have won with our back ups on the field in the 4th Quarter. Does anyone disagree with me?

I am leaving tomorrow to go out of town for 3 days, so if I do not reply to your responses it is not because I am avoiding you, but because my internet access is limited. I would like to hear everyone’s response to number 5.

    Geaux Tigers :eek:ldskule:

I am just one pissed off fan :angryfire and hope to have a cooler head tomorrow :thumb: .

Saban did not hire a new coach, Skip did. Good points otherwise.

Look I'm all for blitzing..that's what we need to succeed on defense..But Pelini in the second half ran blitzes where the blitzing players would stand still in the slot they would blitz in. That is simply amateur, obviously any jobber quarterback can tell where the blitz is coming from when the player is leaning towards the line in a a sprinter's position ready to blitz. Clausen easily handled the hot routes..i mean please moves the guys around..back off the blitz..stunt..zone blitz more..and most importantly disguise the blitzes better-to where a second rate quarterback cannot read them with such ease and competance

You are correct, and I know Saban isn't to blame with our new coaching staff. If I remember correctly Saban made a statement saying something about he was surprised that LSU did not contact him for assistance in finding a replacement. Saban's forte was defense and more specifically DB's. He recruited what he thought was the best DB's for his system. It is obvious that Pollini and Miles can not maximize the talent that Saban recruited in their own systems.

Once again I am still pissed off :angryfire and can only pray that I have a cooler head tomorrow and realize that this new system will work.

not trying to defend Miles here because he did make some goofs BUT he did say at the half something about two halves of football and he wanted to remind his team of that....something to that effect...

I doubt he went in the locker room and said ok you're winning so big we're gonna take it easy....

I think his plan and Lou Tepper's opps I mean Bologna Pelini's plan was go conservative, and Jimbo said Ok I can do conservative..... and they did, and it didn't work...

It may be whining and if that is what it is fine, I'll regret it tomorrow. But I honestly believe that we were outcoached the second half and that if Saban was still here we would have had back ups in the second half. Do you not agree?
I know it is hypothetical and that I have to move on and realize that Saban is not coaching, but it still pisses me off.

I agree with this, the coaching staff went conservative in the second half. UT made adjustments and we stuck with the conservative plan.

Unfortunatly it did remind me of the Tepper days :dis: hopefully our coaches learned from this and do not take any team lightly in the second half for the remainder of our schedule.

is this true? I watched the game at a bar in Pearland, TX and did not get to hear any post game interviews. Did Miles take credit for the conservative approach or is this speculation?
