They just said that there might be a break at the Industrial Canal Levee.

Has anybody down there heard anything or not?

The storm surge from Rita breached the already damaged floodwall in the Industrial Canal. The repairs that were made after Katrina can't handle this storm surge.

Not anyone's fault ... just wasn't enough time to repair it properly. They have the same concern at the 17th street canal. If the storm surge is high enough, it'll breach that area as well.

The good news is that the winds should be shifting from east to south today in New Orleans, thus not pushing anymore water into Lake Ponchatrain.

5 - 10 inches per min is what the CNN reporters is saying.

They are trying to get back to the truck to start sending pictures of it on CNN.

Not sure why CNN is making such a big deal out of this. It's the same area that had 8'-10' of water after Katrina. It's not like it's going to do anymore damage. And there are no people in that area.

It'll just set back the recovery efforts a few weeks in that area...

There are troops stationed in that area right now.

The problem that the reporter said was that it happened all of a sudden. You could hear the guy running and about to pass out while he was trying to talk on the phone.

I am sure they are smart enough but what about the ones that get taken by surprise and not enough time to react.

Confirmed, I work for one of the companies that repaired that breach and has been pumping water out. We just got the call that the 9th ward is back under water.
