LSU 24 - UT 10 UT has not impressed with their two headed QB. LSU can put up points. UT's defense is fast, but their pass defense is suspect. Tepp...Pelini comes up with a better gameplan.
30 - 7 Tigers Tepper earns national respect as DC by holding TN scoreless through 3 quarters. Vols fold likw Mrs. Chin. LSU puts on more steam.
Tennessee won't score more than 14 points with their offense... so as long as you don't give them any turnover or special team's TD's, you'll win... I can't see you scoring less than 20 points against anyone. LSU 27, Tennessee 14... book it, Dano.
Tennessee will just about be knocked out of the SEC East running if they lose this game because then Florida would have to lose 3 SEC games. Tennessee was over-rated in the first place, but this game will show if they have any real character. LSU by 10 points, because I doubt that the VOLS have much team chemistry.
No surprise there. I started to say I expect the line to tighten up quite a bit...but then couldn't think of a real reason why. Bo Pelini detractors---I perhaps foremost among them---has to give some due to Kellor and that ASU passing attack after they strafed a respectable Northwestern team on Saturday (I define "respectable" as 6-5 or 7-4 type talent). Also, LSU opens at home---finally---and Tenn comes out of a very physical game. For perhaps the last time this season, the Tigers will take the field physically fresher than the opponent. If attacking the perimeter of the Tenn D makes sense, could we see just a taste of Mr. Perrilloux? Nah. Not this week, not in a game this big. LSU 20 UT 13
:rofl: Thanks for the belly laugh on that one Tejas. I'm the same way...I keep trying to think of reasons why it should be closer, and I'm coming up empty. Their defense is probably better than ASU's, and we scored 21 points on offense against them. Nevertheless, I don't see UT scoring much...some excellent points made on this thread already about turnovers/short field, and Ainge/Clausen's slower release than Keller and collapsing on the WRs. Very good points. LSU 24 UT 16
Not with the way JaMarcus played last week. The only way I see RP getting in the game is if we're up by over 14 but our offense is sputtering a bit, and even then, it would be pretty shocking to see a true freshmen QB being put in the game against a top 10 opponent... Maybe if JaMarcus is starting to feel fatigue in the second half, RP could be brought in for a drive or two & allow JaMarcus to freshen up. I don't know. I say the chances are slim.
No way. In that situation Flynn comes in. There is just no way you waste a redshirt of this much value unless you have no other choice. The only way you do this is if RP refuses to redshirt, and we can speculate all we want, but we still don't know if he would do that. I know he said he wants to play, but what if he changed his mind? Even if he would forego a redshirt, you still don't put a true freshman in that situation. If we see him it will either be in a complete blowout or in an injury situation in a game of less magnitude.
