    Did anyone else notice:

ED caught the ball (the announcers were trying their best to take it away), THEN the ball popped up in the air when he hits the ground (shouldn't matter anyway- he already had control in bounds). But, the ref waited until it came back down in his hands on the ground to signal touchdown.

My point is, if ED did not re-catch the ball out of bounds, I think there is a good chance that the ref's instinct would have been to say that it was not a catch. Then, it would have been up to replay to overturn, which they would not have. Good instincts by ED to re-gather the ball even though he was out of bounds.

Don't think Highsmith can cut it? Didn't see the same player I did. He looked like a player who hasn't played a lot, but he has Sunday talent. The guy can fly, is aggressive, and hits hard. He caused a fumble, recovered a fumble, nailed Keller on last drive to rattle him, and generally made plays when the ball was near him. He got beat by Lewis a few times, but as Tirk said Lewis is a great TE. Ali looks like a player that didn't get the start over Spadoni because of his grasp of the D, not his talent. I expect him to get a start before the year's out.

What is up with Luke Sanders btw? Is he still hurt?

My woody goes 2 years back. I've said for 2 years the guy doesn't touch the ball enough. Some say 15 - 16 carries tops. Try him with 20+ and see how he holds up.....don't knock it til you've tried it. I'm not a big believer in just b/c a guy weighs 210 and not 230 he can't hold up to a bunch of carries.....how much did Emmitt Smith weigh in college?.....i have no idea. But the guy needs to touch the ball as much as possible.

Just a general observation. I went to the final scrimmage before the season. This (the ASU game) is not the same defense that was played that evening.

agree, They better send somebody, even if it's your mom or mine. I picked up on "your huge worry". It's just first game nervousness. The past "word" on LSU was that we needed improvement in this area. They have a chart on the sideline for situation kicks vs 2pt conversions. It's at least good to know the wheels are turning upstairs there, trying to cover all the angles. Miles has already earned a "gambler" rep in my book. Anyone who can go for it on 4th down three times and convert each HAS PRACTICED HIS CAN OFF TO GET THERE.

Hey, Tirk. I been meaning to ask you about Hillary's running mate, Looter.

Is that Theo Looter, Martin Looter King's grandson or Leroy Looter, Martin Looter King's nephew?

Yep it would be nice to see JA get more touches.....ans Skyler and Jones(especially), and Doucet in space and Bowe when he comes back and .....

These are all statments I've seen the past couple of days We cannot get everyone all of the touches we wish unless we make the other team go 3 and out every series. Although I expect a big improvement in our defense I do not expect to see that.

I actually thought JV ran the ball much harder when I rewatched the game. On the plays inside he had no where to run on a few of his carries, when they gave the ball to him on a slant he took and ran hard.

Also credit JV with a good effort to get out of bounds and stop clock on the last drive. I feel like Highsmith has it and will be a great player by midseason. Agree about CV in coverage, but that is why he is playing MLB, lets face it Lionel Turner was no Deion Sanders either. I think we will all feel better about our LB's after we play a more run oriented offense. Don't really agree that we haven't recruited well at LB, Highsmith, Vaughn, Sanders, Hollis, Kuale, were all considered national recruits.
