Maybe so, but in the end, it all goes back to coaching. Is the schemes such that they lend themsleves to bad play? Do these schemes require such a high level of performance where we cannot expect even our great athletes to consistently produce competent play? ...I don't think so, and hopefully this performance was an anomaly. I'm sure Miles and especially Pelini know that in the end, the only thing that matters is RESULTS.:helmet: :crystal: :helmet:
I'm beginning to think that Miles wanted to keep the D in plain vanilla mode at all costs unless absolutely necessary, and it nearly cost us a game. It seems that our D is being kept under wraps until the Tenn game. Maybe Pelini has something special in store..... :hihi:
Well all this SEC doesn't throw the ball is funny. After what I saw Saturday if I am playing LSU you can bet I am coming in with a game plan that throws the ball. Oh yeah and also most SEC teams have RB thaqt go more than 185. And I don't believe we showed any offense that can win in a shoot out. We got very lucky with 2 ST touchdowns and a almost no catch TD to Early on 4th and 10 basically for all the marbles. I am not bashing just stating what I saw and to quote Les Miles was "Sloppy." We won't beat Bama, Kentucky, Florida or Tenn, IF we play like we did Saturday.
yeah, but it works both ways. x carter drops a sure TD in the 2nd Q which would have given us the lead.
As long as it gets better for Tenn. Because Tenn. is in the SEC and will not find ways to lose rather just rub your nose in it and kick your ass all day long:geauxtige
It's not that. You have to remember that this is a whole new system that will take some time to adjust to, no matter how good of an athlete one is. Not to mention that we have some youngsters at some of those positions.
of course he meant better. of course it couldn't have been worse minus a loss. of course we need changes and of course, cajdav this isnt rocket science and even females saw there were some basic things that could have been done during the game while teppellini stood idle. i dont think anyone here is proclaiming to have read Lou Tepper's book and be an expert, yet football is football and some things are obvious at times. no we dont have all the answers as to the inner workings of what happened but one thing is clear whether you think most opinions are valid or not. that scheme won't work in the SEC. no way. i will let it pass as first game confusion and look for the newly revamped saban D next week. I still love our coaches even though they're on prozac. Oh, and I miss muschamp more than anyone.
But not a damn one of us knows what the schemes really were yet, if the players were lining up wrong and playing them worng, how are we suppossed to know if they will work or not?
