1. They have a real hoppin' bar there called McDuffy's.... about five blocks from the stadium. I don't know the drinking age as everyone in our group was well past 21. There are many restaurants and smaller bars between McDuffy's and the stadium.
I mention McDuffy's cuz it's always packed, indoor and outdoor seating, good eats.... and enough TV's to pick up most any other game that day... remember, TV games start about 10 am in Phoenix.
Hotel-wise, we stayed at the Wyndham Buttes... quite expensive and about a 20 minute cab ride... you can do much better on pricing staying right downtown Tempe.
  2. Yes they are. At least the on-campus victims at PMAC and Maddox who aren't being kept here very long before being sent elsewhere. In 18 more days that effort will have likely finished. They are triaging closer to New Orleans now and flying people out fo Rmstrong airport. The stream of injured to BR will not last forever.

Now there may not be enough hotel rooms for all out-of-town fans, but that won't keep the game from being played, IMO. Some folks may just have to miss the game. Others will have to drive 5 hours back to Shreveport after the game. All LSU has to do is find room for the Tennessee Team and the ESPN crew. I'll bet that can be done. People can't afford to live in hotels forever, they will be starting to go back home or to FEMA-provided rental properties as soon as they can.
  3. Miles can't take the Tigers to Tempe yet. The NCAA doesn't allow for teams to arrive at a venue 48 hours prior to the start time. I'm sure they could ask the NCAA but I doubt it would be approved because classes at LSU started back and none of LSU's practice or football facilities are being used for evacuation purposes.
  4. Yep, I just thought Miles would qualify for some kind of "relief" given the circumstances.
  5. Put the ball on the field and just let the Tigers play football. I don't care if it is in tempe or ten buck two. Iam ready for the Tigers to show what they have this year. It is going to be a very great year to the Tiger and for the Tiger fans.

    :crystal: :crystal:

  6. ahhh the unintentional laugh you got out of me on that one.
  7. ditto
  8. I give you some spin. A friend of mine has season tickets on about the 20 yard line lower bowl of TS. He called to get his tickets for AZ and found out they will be in the upper deck end zone of the fiesta bowl.

That is a complete joke since it is a "home" game for LSU. Skip really negotiated well on behalf of season ticket holders who not only pay for the games but also contribute a decent amount of coin for tradition funds and TAF donation.
  9. Piss & moan all you want. LSU was put between a rock & a hard spot, and is trying it's hardest to make the best of the situation. I don't think people realize just how effected LSU & BR have been by Katrina. LSU didn't have a whole lot of other options, and I have to seriously wonder if some fans have the intelligence to understand that.
  10. I do have the intelligence to understand why they moved the game. I fully appreciate everything that is being done by LSU in regards to the relief effort and was in BR a few days this week. I am just stating a fact that they are putting our fans in the upper deck end zone for our "home" game.

I don't think it wouldn't be a an unreasonable request to give those fans that our going to AZ decent seats.
