Once the city gets settled back to normal in 5 or so years they're gonna have to build a new stadium whether the Saints are still there or not. There's too many sports that want to come to New Orleans for championships and stuff because it's a great place to visit.
Who says anyone will want to come to N.O. now? I don't think the new N.O. will be just like the old one. Who knows?
I don't think that the Dome suffered any major structural damage. However, given the nature and extent of the damage that it did sustain, it may very well be considered a 'total loss.'
True. Basically everyone that had their house destroyed is going to get a new job somewhere else and never move back to New Orleans. The poor people that don't work anyway might move back, but they won't contribute to the economy anyway. I'm from down where coastal erosion eats up our land, so here's a radical thought. Move New Orleans to Morgan City or anywhere along the Atchafalaya and let the Mississippi River flow it's natural path. This will begin to build up setiment and stop erosion. I know it's a crazy idea which would require years of work, but just a thought.
There are few places you could go where folks havn't died, often horribly. I guess you won't be going to NO itself ever again. . . DOn't mean to be harsh, but that was a naive, shortsighted, hopefully knee-jerk, response on your part.
