Would it be possible to get a sticky about the stadium status? It obviously looks bad, but if some people in the know could give routine updates (especially regarding if they have any shot at all of getting a certificate of occupancy for NT)....Thanks

With just over two weeks to go before we kick off LSU football in 2005, I am going to take the opportunity this week to update you on several issues pertaining to the coming season.

    CONSTRUCTION STATUS
As of today, we still anticipate that approximately 1,500 to 2,000 seats at the north end of the west upper deck will not be ready for use for the first two games of the season. Fortunately, we have made preparations to re-seat these season ticket holders in other parts of Tiger Stadium.

The remainder of the renovated west side should be habitable. That means the seats will be ready for use, but there will still be considerable work to be done before the west side is complete. The restrooms will be ready for use throughout the Stadium Club area and upper deck, though one set of restrooms at the north end of the upper deck may be unusable the first game. Concessions will be available in the upper deck.

Of eight high speed elevators that will be available for use this season, six will be operable for the first two games, and the other two will come online by the Tennessee game on September 24. Two of the six elevators will service the upper deck of the stadium, three will service three different levels of the Stadium Club and one will service the press box. The other two elevators to come online for the Tennessee game will service the upper deck.

For those of you with Stadium Club tickets, there will be neither carpet nor paint, but the air conditioning will be operating and full food and beverage service will be in place. Eventually, there will be a magnificent glass wall facing the Mississippi River, but there will be a temporary wall in place during the 2005 season.

Please be aware that the west side of Tiger Stadium -- the Stadium Club, press box and upper deck -- will be stark and bare-bones for the season opener. The look and comfort of these areas will improve with every game. Our contractor is working very hard to get the west side as complete as possible by the first game.
