As fans we are very lucky to have LSU to pull for.

I cant speak for the rest of you but being an LSU fan is a great part of my life. It is a special place to me and it is a connection to my home state.

Events in my life have brought me to California and when people ask me where i am from i am proud to say Louisiana. I grew up as a little boy loving LSU and that feeling is with me wherever i go. I may live in California but i will never consider it my home.

I try to explain the feeling to some of the people here in California and they dont seem to understand. Baton Rouge on a Saturday night at an LSU Football game. It just doesnt get any better.

I will be listening , watching , and screaming this year for my Tigers .

Give em hell Les and keep that eye of the Tiger.

    Geaux Tigers

It sure does bring another element to the state...

Without it, Saturdays in LA, would be the same as Saturdays in...?

A great post, Calco. You speak for all of us who are far away. There is something indelibly written on my heart and that is "LSU." My dad was class of 1949, so LSU was in my house from the time I was born. It sometimes happens in Richmond that another alum will pass my car, see the LSU decal and honk and wave. It fills me with pride.

It has been probably 10 years since I have been to a game in Tiger Stadium, but sharing LSU football games on TV with my son has been a passing of the baton from my father to me and from me to him. Though he is in college elsewhere, he's as big a Tiger fan as there is.

There's something about those "stately oaks and broad magnolias" that stays with you...
