The whole drinking age thing is BS in my opinion. When I was growing up, here in LA., the legal age was 18. We were drinking at 16. At 19 I was exchanging rounds with piece of crap muslims. When I'm the Governor, I will lower the drinking age back down to 18. Old enough to die for your country, old enough to drink in your country.

Yeah, but I grew up in Texas and until the law went 18 (my senior year in high school, from what I remember) and the SBC had the laws to tight that underage drinking was up there with real moral crimes. I suspect the same attitude is found in Georgia.

Ok. I'm an LSU devotee in Atlanta, and I can tell you, with all honesty, that I hate UGA with a white hot hate. You simply CANNOT get away from the whining here. But underage drinking? Who hasn't dodged that bullet? They're kids. Let them do their thing.

How absurd. Give the 20 year old MAN a ticket for littering, tell him to not be such an idiot by getting caught, and call it a night. Throwing the kid in the pokey with a four digit bond? That's just bizarre.

I never thought it was that bad.

The AJC hates UGA, imo. They have their good, ass-kissing articles of course but the majority rail Richt and UGA...which I loved

The problem with Athens is that you have an ultra-liberal city council who likes to micro-manage everything. Mix that with a fairly intelligent group of students who like to unwind. The city council recently banded ALL smoking in the bars. You have to go out on a deck to smoke anywhere in downtown Athens.

The Athens police are between a rock and a hard place. If they do arrest someone, the system waiting in the wings is beyond reasonable.

Compare this kid's bail to Campbell up in Knoxville. Campbell was pulled over for a noisy car, had open alcohol in the vehicle. Had a bench warrant out on him for not showing up in court for an outstanding theft charge. He ended up getting out on $1200 bail, which amounted to his friends scraping together $120.

Richt will deal with this as a first offense, but this kid is going to be running laps and sprints for a long long time. :thumb:
