  1. I'd bet a Ben Franklin that it is one of the jokes from Auburn who polute this forum on occasion
  2. Exaclty what I was thinking. I have no problem with it, but if your gonna do it then state why. Don't be a puss and hide.
  3. Just for the record...I voted Florida :yelwink2:
  4. Where is Proud?
  5. all of this means------------nothing. LSU didnt do too hot the year before the NC--many losses to good teams, that great game against the powerful Ark and the awe-inspiring come-from-behind victory over the incomparable UK.

there may be good reasons why UT is overrated, but it aint last years results
  6. Tennessee played like garbage down the stretch, one win over "highly rated" Yexas A&M is the reason they're picked so high. Tennessee is veteran team, but the fact they were lucky as heck. Their play last year is a major reason why I'm not impressed with them.
  7. First of all that's not a fair comparison. LSU did pretty well with Mauck in 02 until he had his foot injury, and probably would've done much better with him all year. (Of course his foot injury forced him to work on his passing game, so without that he probably wouldn't have been as potent a passer in 03 as he was, but that's beside the point) My point is that our success in 02 compared to 03 is an unfair comparison b/c we played half the year w/o our starting QB.

Second, Starting the 03 season we weren't ranked in the top 5 in the nation.

    Bad comparison.
  8. LSU, Tennessee & Florida are the only teams in the SEC really being hyped up this season. Bama, Auburn & maybe even South Carolina are getting some hype, but not much poll love, so I don't think they can qualify for being over-rated.

I don't know if LSU can go undefeated, but I think that what the media is saying about LSU is true - that we are as talented as anyone in the country & have a shot at the national championship. A little while ago, I would have said LSU wasn't getting too much hype, but recently it's just kind of exploded. So, with us having a new coach it's possible that we're over-rated. (Of course I'll never believe that though).

Florida... well, the way I look at it is Meyer doesn't have to do much to be able to improve on Zook's regular 7-8 win season, so I don't think 9-10 wins is out of the question. National Championship? No, definitely not. But pretty good? Probably. Their talent is being overexagerrated, and their coach is being over hyped, but most polls aren't ranking them that high.

Tennessee. Ranked in the top 5 in all preseason polls. Why? A blow out win against a Texas A&M team in the Cotton Bowl that laid down & gave them the game. If it weren't for that bowl game, Tennessee would struggle to be in the top 10. Tennessee is talented, but their strengths are being completely exagerrated, QB!!!! Ainge is talented, but young & Clausen... come on... & their weaknesses are being overlooked - pass defense anyone? I think they will win 9, maybe squeek(sp?) out 10 games but not the SEC Championship & definitely not the national championship. They get my vote.
  9. Rack 'im ! good post.

And, for the record, I voted Bama (of course :hihi: )
  10. UT played half the year w/o their starting QB

Yes, we werent ranked in the top 5 starting 03, but we should have been. maybe UT should be ranked where they are because they will have a big turnaround season. I wouldnt bet on it though, they play us once or twice. :geauxtige
