1. Yeah, I know what I said. If we could look into a crystal ball and see that Bass won't be drafted this year, and he wouldn't be drafted next year either, It doesn't prove that he made a GOOD position. All it proves is he didn't put himself in a WORSE position by leaving early.

Now, when you consider that 8 highschoolers are projected to go in the top 2 rounds, and consider that Bass could marginally improve his stock (let's say 5-10 spots) you can see that is a major difference. That possibility is a lot to throw away when you are staring at not being drafted at all in the face (your premise to begin with).

I agree that Bass will never be a top 20 pick. But, slipping into the first round is a major deal. I think it's 3 Mill. guaranteed vs. most likely playing overseas .
  2. since he stopped growing at 6'6"
  3. 5 or 6 spots may be the difference between a guaranteed three year contract and a non guaranteed contract
  4. How much higher would Bass be picked if he was 6'10? Like I said, I would say anywhere from 20-25 maybe even as high as 15...

So why, if his height isn't going to change, would he gamble his future on how many players under 19 are not going to get to participate in the draft next year. If I was Brandon, I wouldn't bet my future on something like that.
  5. You aren't making much sense. How is giving yourself a chance to be drafted higher (perhaps at all) gambling your future? Especially when the writing is on the wall that at best you are a mid 2nd round draft pick right now? What would he be giving up?
  6. Yeah you're right, I'm not making much sense. 19 and 20 year olds regularly add 2.5 to 3 inches in a year...What am I thinking?
  7. Did I say that Bass was likely to grow 2.5 to 3 inches?
  8. No...See I was being sarcastic. It's a form of comedy. I was making a play on the fact that you ignore Bass' weakness and the reason he isn't being forecasted as a first round pick...

    his height.

I then used said weakness and repeated it to you about five times to see if you had anything to say about it and you kept arguing with me about other things. My point, for the last time, is that unless he grows three more inches in the next year, there is no way another year of college would have benefited Brandon that much more...
  9. I agree that Bass' main weakness is his height. However, I think you are wrong if you think you can definitively say that given another year with the changes to the minimum age that Bass couldn't be a #1 next year, which by the way means guaranteed millions.

Here are a couple of simple questions.

1.) How tall is Corliss Williamson?
    2.) When was he drafted?
3.) Could Bass develop into that type of player?

I think there is a possibility (not necessarily a high probability) that Bass could develop into that type of player. He was SEC player of the year after all. When you consider this in conjunction with his current draft prospects I think it's evident that Bass would have made a better decision had he stayed.
  10. no, bass will probaly not get any taller, but something he can control is his ball handling and outside shot to play the 3. that's what he's aiming for. this kid still has a lot of room to improve and has the motivation and skills to do that. he should have stayed in school, no question about it.
