Geaux TIGERS!!!! Starting QB??? :helmet: I am still living high on the sugar bowl . everywhere i go living here in oklahoma i wear my purple and gold with pride. OU should stand for Overrated University......Who do you think will be the leading canidate for the starting QB job at LSU ?
Re: Geaux TIGERS!!!! Starting QB??? First, welcome to the board. Second, if you really want to know people's feelings on the QB situation, sit back, grab a icy cold coke, beer or other thirst quencher of choice, and scroll through the pages of past threads. There are approximately 23,475 threads having to do with the QB situation. That being said, I think Russell and Flynn will battle for the spot until the Fall, with Russell holding a definite advantage with major big game experience. Flynn would have to be truly phenomenal to take the job away from Russell. Of course I don't know enough about Miles historically to know what type of QB he prefers. Perhaps he prefers a QB that's more mobile than Russell, and if that's the case then maybe Flynn still has a shot. Either way, come Fall Perrilloux is going to want consideration. I wouldn't expect him to pick up the offense quick enough to win the starting job immediately, but if he's half as good as he thinks he is, I'd expect him to share in some playing time, especially if the other two are struggling.
Re: Geaux TIGERS!!!! Starting QB??? I love your enthusiasm and Tiger spirit, but I do have to disagree with you about Oklahoma being Overated U. OU has won mulitiple national championships, Heisman trophy winners and numerous All-Americans, one thing the Sooners aren't is overrated. And as much as I don't care for Bob Stoops, he has returned OU to national prominence. He's led them to a national championship and the Sooners have played in that last two title games. Granted they got beat by LSU and crushed last year but they still were in it, that's not overrated that's consistent. I think Russell's physical ability and experience will lift him above Flynn and Perrilloux. But if he struggles or has a bad day I feel very comfortable having Flynn and Perrilloux waiting in the wings.
Is that a joke? Flynn may be the smartest at decision making...he may be the one with the best grasp of the offense...and he may have way more potential that any of us realize... ...but he doesn't have the strongest arm. No way.
What ever gave you that idea? I'm pretty sure that JR has a much stronger arm than MF. Supposedly, he threw the ball clear over the Mississippi on his recruiting visit.
does JR kinda remind you of rohan davey?? Les Miles QB at OSU most of career was josh fields a baseball / football player . He was a pocket passer that set back and threw the ball up in the air to a couple of talented receivers like Rashaun Woods
