whenever I follow a game online, I usually just have the Live Stats running and periodically check in. It always seems to be up to date (compared to the broadcast, when I can listen), then gets way behind by the mid innings. Sometimes it just stops updating all together (even when I manually refresh). Do the guys in charge of this just get too deep into the Jack to care? And why is the link always to the opposition's website? Does LSU ever provide it's own live stats page? Some formats are better than others, with mini-diamonds showing men on base, up to the second batting counts, and easy-on-the-eyes layout. The MSU page from today is more typical. Not bad, but nothing fancy.
Don't have any answer's for you, but just wanted to comment: You're right, the early innings were updated rather speedily--and for the most part, were right in line with the broadcast, but like you said, they (live scoring) started "lagging" mid-way through the game. Overall though, I think it was ok.
It was terrible during football season, I remember I tried to get updates on the Arkansas State game by it because ESPN's sucks, but it was just confusing as hell.
I have an even better story about the live stats. During the Basketball season, I couldn't watch the LSU vs UK game because I wasn't near a TV. But I had internet access. So I followed the "Live Stats" at the end of the game and they had us winning the game by one point!!!! WOO HOO!!! WE BEAT UK!!! It had us up by one and it was a FINAL. I went around thinking that we had won the damned thing for hours and then went back and watched the recording that I had taped... Of course what really happened was we went to OT and lost!!! DAMN!!!!! I will NEVER EVER EVER trust the "live stats" again.
That's funny. Eatel isn't worth a crap but evidentally some of the other LSU sites are just as bad. I believe all of the SEC teams use the home teams feed for live stats and during many of the games I switched to the opposing teams site when ours went down and it was still woking.
That happened to me, too. All this time I have been thinking I had a blonde moment and hallucinated that I saw that score! One, I am relieved to know it wasn't just me. Two, I am always cursing the comatose stats!!
I don't even bother to check the live stats anymore. When I'm out of town with no access to the LSU network, I rely on TF to keep me up to date. Edit: So...on Wednesday morning, when I'm in Atlanta, someone keep me posted. :thumb:
