Former Tiger Ricky Blanton in trouble with NCAA...

The violations at Nicholls didnt just come from the football team.. the basketball team and even volleyball got sanctions... My gf's mom was a cop over there and she said they have been investigating it for a few years.. so i'm thinking they got pretty good proof on RB.

 

It sucks that the only time my school makes the front page is when something bad happens. We had a pretty good football program on the rise too.

 

Division I-AA doesn't offer the same amount of scholarships as D-I. So it's only a loss of like 5 scholarships from 65 to 60, but many D-IAA schools don't even offer that full amount of 65, and Nicholls didn't.

 

Blanton resigned because he knew he was going to be implicated in this. Richards the football assistant was fired and the academic adviser left before she got canned as well. Ricky and the other two didn't make themselves available to help in the investigation either. And in the eyes of the NCAA he's guilty and won't be able to coach college basketball at an NCAA institution for at least five years.

 

This is the biggest blackeye to me.

 

Hope Ricky can recover from this...if all this is true. Worked with him for a couple of years with his basketball camps. Anyone know where/what Ricky is doing now?
