Unless this team gets much better play from the point it won't matter if Bass is here or not next year.
nope, tack is mip. sure, mitch needs to play well too. but he might have to come off the bench. probably play better that way. of course its tough to count on a freshman (tasmin), but he'd certainly get plenty of looks with all the attention on bass (wishful thinking) and davis.
I think Bass is gone. Had the Tigers gone 2 or 3 deep in the tourney he may have stayed just to see how potent they could be next season. I look for him to go high in the draft.
Isn't part of the reason Tasmin went to LSU was to play with Bass? And Bass also expressed interest in playing with Tas.
im guessing the trny had little to zero impact on his decision. thats something he has decided in his mind one way or another beforehand more than likely. if LSU had won it all would that have inspired him to return? doubtful. thats not something you decide on emotions. he will leave early for the fat check. if i hear its in his best interest to return one more time i think ill croak. who knows if it is or not. He will do what he thinks is best for him and his family. im sure this poll would be different if done today. http://www.tigerforums.com/showthread.php?t=26197
I tend to agree with both assessments...Why develop in college when you can develop in the pros on the bench with no pressure collecting a check and traveling the United States-and all the benefits that come with it? I also think that Bass is in for a rude awakening...A 6-8, 6-9, low post player with absolutely NO face up, take you off the dribble basketball skills is NOT a high draft pick. He's an athlete...a Stromile Swift type, to be honest...and we all know that he went #2 on pure speculation...It's obvious Memphis shouldn't have taken him there in hindsight... Bass has absolutely no ball handling skills, and with 7 footers like Rashard Lewis, Kevin Garnett, and Dirk Nowitzki routinely rotating over to either handle the point guard position on offense or occassionally rotating over to GUARD taller 1's in the league, he's not going to be a hot commodity... Bass has to work on ball handling...The question is, what does he feel like? Dribbling drills during shoot arounds before the ESPN NBA broadcast with professional NBA coaches fine tuning him and the rest of his game? Or listening to JB chew him? Hmmm....Maybe I think he'll go pro after all... P.S.-->I have also heard that he is VERY intent on playing at least one season with both Big Baby & Tasmin...
Bass will be fine in the NBA. Bass knows how to travel with the basketball, he understands the importance of throwing his defensive skills out the window, he's prepared to father dozens of illegitimate children, and I heard he has a nasty right hook - he's one brawl away from being an all-star by his second year.
BB, I'm not sure if I should laugh or barf after reading your post. I think you are bveing facetious in responding to the post above your's but not sure. Anyway, Bass will make his decision on one thing and one thing alone. Where can he expect to drafted and will that be a position that gives him enough money. The difference in being a very high draft choice and a late first rounder/early second is very. I think he raised his draft stock immensley during the past year, will the same experts who recommended he stay last year give him the same advice, will they be honest with where he is projected to go? If so we may see Brandon back in a Tiger uniform next season. Where we lost in the tourney won't have any effect on his decision.
you think as do I. Rudy Macklin said today on spongy's show that bass should return the next 2 seasons and would be no doubt the overall #1 pick once he fully develops midrange shots and ball handling. obviously rudy believes that is best but he's probably aware that will never happen. Ahh Rudy is such a class act. Everytime I find out or hear something about him Id never heard or known it makes him that much more special. He was talking about how its still hard for him to watch the trny and final 4 because they didnt advance when they made it. Thats just flat out awesome and something missing from todays athletes even those in college worried more about if they will get paid moreso than the team. Likely because teams with that talent will never exist since none will stay around that long as a group because of the NBA. He also spoke of how he had to make a point not to shoot/score as much for the betterment of the team. Said the thing he is most proud is their record for number of wins since all he was about was winning. nothing more. not points, not boards, not anything but winning. said he and the cookie man were roommates his entire time and were like brothers. told the team they nothing mattered except winning and all sacrificed their egos to accomplish it. he was also on his way to houston for cookie man's funeral and was still in shock and saddened, of course. even stanley roberts is headed there. all the ex teammates from Hi-C to dale brown. rudy freakin macklin. possibly the best overall person/tiger I can think of. R.I.P. COOKIE MAN. LSU has lost a truly great one.
