I had to bail out of McDermott Eng. in New Orleans in 1987 (bad time!!!) and my kids grew up in Texas. If your kid grows up in Texas, they study Tx. history first, and all the really important battles in the world (Alamo and San Jacinto), and later they study the minor skirmishes like WWI and WWII. They won't leave Tx. after that.

    Ask TejasTiger! :hihi:

UT Fans are the biggest whiners in Football. A couple of years ago, after the drumming by OU, one of their fans called in to a local raido station in Houston and was upset at the OU players. The fan stated that the OU players hurt his feelings due to them hanging the longhorn symbol upside down. This was the most ridiculous thing I had ever heard in my life. He wanted the OU players punished for hanging the longhorn symbol upside down.

    LSU!

Texas fans are the biggest whiners in football because you heard one fan call into a talk show and say something like that?

First of all, don't get offended. You're the one that chose to be a UT fan. Secondly, that's a pretty stupid thing to do so yes. You should find him and hang him, thereby redeeming yourself.

Not only b/c of that whiner. Anytime that a UT fan in Houston think they hear something negative, they are whining. Their fans are arrogant. Some UT arrogant jerks had the gaul to say they were the best team in the country after they beat North Texas last football season.

Mack Brown does not do a good job of developing his talent. Look at Vince Young. According to UT fans he's the second coming of Vick. His passing game has regressed since he has been at UT.

UT could beat St.Mary's of the blind, deaf, and mute in football and their fans would think that they are the best team in the country.

By the way, Sixth street sucks too.

US News ranks UT academically much higher than LSU. I am not saying the US News' word is the law ( I mean they rank Miami at Ohio above us ) but UT is a pretty good school academically. I went to LSU and earned two masters and had an academic experience only few people can dream of having, but I would kill to have gone to UT. UT is better because the state of Texas has more money and can attract better professors and these profs can bring in more research funding to build and establish labs. I think university facilities are about the same. Ours is one of the best in the country and perhaps the world.

Sports is different. We are in par with them in all respects. Even though we do not pay our players NFL type salaries like the shothorns do :hihi:.

Not really. Though, it may seem that way if you don't pay attention. Anybody will tend to look worse when you don't have Roy Williams, B.J. Johnson, and Sloan Thomas to throw the ball to. He improved a lot as a passer over the course of last season.

Definitely agree. Keep in mind he played in a run oriented offense last year as well, with Benson (rightfully) being the focal point of that offense against most teams. I've watched a fair amount of UT games, and Young seems to have improved, IMO. His problem is consistency, but he can make a lot of throws that I really never thought he would be able to (e.g. the deep out.)
