If Miles stays 16 years averaging 9 wins a season like McClendon, I'll be delighted.

If he stays five years averaging 10 wins a season like Saban, I'll be delighted.

I don't give a rat's ass how long Saban stays at Miami, but I'll take him back when Miles goes to Michigan, if the NFL doesn't work out for him.

    So, Who is it?

Just who is this super talented coach that will average 10 wins a season and only ever desires to coach at LSU? Obvoiusly one that has displayed the ability, in your mind, to put a muzzle on players that arent even enrolled in school yet. Do you have names? Or do you just not want Miles?

C'mon man, its reeeaaaalllly getting old.

CNS showed that LSU could be the best college football team in the world. He found most of his kids right there in Louisiana. He did it in 2003 and I think if he was here in 2005 he would win it all again. I don't know anything about CLM other then he had a small recruiting class and he will have a wealth of talent to use. I said it b/4 and I will say it again, MICKEY MOUSE could coach this team and win the West. What if CLM has a great first year (I sure hope so) and two more great years throw in three SECW championships and maybe a national title or two? Do you think he will stay like say I don't know ol Pete Carroll at USC? That guy is devoted to his program. I think coaches are fast to take off for the dream job when all they need is right under their nose. Then again USC is not SEC and we all know that the SEC is fierce. I don’t blame a coach for heading for the hills when the going gets tuff. It takes one hell of a coach to bang out 5 winning (SEC) seasons in a row. I think CLM has the talent to start it off now lets see if he can produce.

I thought Miles wasn't even going to succeed at LSU?

Reading only the title of this thread here is my response:

I sure hope he uses Saban's talent. Otherwise the 14 guys we signed this year are going to be very tired.

I am so tired of people b'in and moanin' about Miles before he has even coached a game for the Tigers. Some act as if he doesn't even want to be at LSU. I have read numerous accounts about how tough it was for him to leave Stillwater, and I don't think he would have left for just any coaching position. He left that job for one I think he is excited about having, for a program he respects.

No, I am not gonna pretend I wasn't a Les Miles fan before he took the LSU job. I really liked and admired him for what he did at Oklahoma State, and I was happy that he got the LSU position. I believe if he can do with the resources he has available at LSU with what he did with the much fewer resources he had at OSU, people are going to be happy with him.

I had to listen to my sister - one of the OSU fans that is mad at Miles for leaving, and no matter how he handled it, she would trash him - again last night. And yes, I got pissy with her, too.

Les Miles is the coach for the Tigers now whether anyone likes it or not. Give the man a chance to do his job. Let him do it his way, and don't get your panties in a wad when he doesn't do it St. Nick's way, or your way.

I'm through with my rant now.

I really believe that Miles is happy here. (I think Saban was happy too, he just wanted to be in the pros) Miles has mentioned numerous times that he was looking for a place to settle down and stay for a while. Also, he has mentioned that he's not interested in going to the NFL, that the college level is where he wants to be. If he wanted to use LSU as a stepping stone to Michigan, he wouldn't have accepted having an extra large buy-out clause in his contract for him going to Michigan.
