i can understand people thinking croyle has received too much press but this kid is good regardless. He has had nothing to play for his first 2 years with Bama's sanctions. He has a great arm, can move and is poised in the pocket. He has all the tools.

Don't forget the coaching carousel that has happened since hes been there. He has also had basically zero impact players at WR to help him as well in a basic run offense.

if this kid was here, you'd love him and for good reason. if they were competitive with "spencer pennington" then they will always be worthy.

Yall are really high on Russell. I don't think he's as great as you're making him out to be. I know he's young but you act like he had a stellar year. He had a good year but Randall was there too, and had a better year. He'll be a good qb, but I don't see him being anything great. I think Ainge had a better freshmen year. Led UT to the East title and looked like he is the real deal, even though he got injured. With that being said.

    1. Leak
    2. Ainge
    3. Croyle
    4. Shockley - this could easily be Russell because Shockley isn't really proven, and has less talent around him.
    5. Russell
    6. Cox
    7. Newton

all others are on teams that don't matter this season.

Syvelle Newton will not start for Spurriers Gamecocks... he will start a true freshman b/c of Newton's post season behavior. Besides we all know Spurrier likes to mold his own, QBs... that are usually 'white' and around the two star range... look for Joe Cox to play next season.

    1) Leak, the best qb in the best system

    2) Croyle, wont be based on stats due to much fewer attempts but will be with wins.

    3) Russell & Ainge tied here. both young both talented on good teams.

    5) Shockley--as marine said...right place at the right time.

    6) Cutler--thought he was a senior last year. he is the entire team. poor guy.

    2)

What makes me newer to the forum than you? Just b/c I have less posts does not mean that I have just started looking at the great TF message board. Now you are the new mens basketball coach and the forum god eh?

You and BB should enroll in anger management classes together. And also remember that not everyone on a message board will agree with everything you post, and of course, no one will be as intelligent as the two of you.

I am not sure how he is that good regardless. Many QB's have the "tools" to be good but many don't ever use them.

Croyle finished DEAD LAST t in the SEC in Pass Efficiancy in 2003 (out of starting QB's that is)...6th out of 10 in Passing Yards/Game....and so forth....I know that the sanctions, play-calling, and whatever else may have had some factor in it but outside of some tools that he has like many other SEC QB's....he has yet to do anything worth while to warrent being considered a very good SEC QB, IMO.

yeah so did you watch the capital one bowl? i'm kinda wondering how much you saw of him period. NO ONE accused him of having a great year. but he is still insanely talented with the potential to do great things this year...especially with the added motivation of RP (see also: san diego chargers/drew brees/phillip rivers). you don't have to believe me...i'll let him convince you of it this fall when he decimates your secondary.

possibly I just like this kid from what I've seen but I think he has what it takes mentally as well as physically.

certainly not sold on his coach nor his receiving corp but Ill step out and rank him up there anyhow. He'll be Matt Mauck part II with a better arm.

    Very true.

He could very well turn out to be good....I still am suspect on Alabama's depth on both sides of the ball
