Yeah, I read that yesterday too. It said that Jimbo had arranged for Ro to work with RP over the summer. I have to say that doesn't sound very fair in my opinion, if Ro is only working with RP. If I were JR or MF, I don't think that would sit too well with me, if my offensive coordinator were arranging for an older, more experienced QB to work only with an incoming freshman. Something ain't right about that.

But Ingle Martin started the season before Leak took over.

Yeah, somethign ain't right about that at all. Ro will definetely help RP develop his game though.

The more I read about this RP kid, the more something just don't seem legit with the situation with him and LSU. I'll shut up now.....

If I had to start a team from scratch I don't think I would pick Vick in my top 3. At the same time, I don't think Peyton Manning and Tom Brady's understanding of the game and their respective offenses is comparable to LSU's current situation. I'm not exactly sure what you're asking, but I would say Vick is not one of the best 3 in terms of getting it done consistently.

I agree with what you say here and I always believe that a redshirt is best, but I also see LSU's circumstances as very, very unique right now...

There may be some rules involved here. I'm not certain. Anyone know?

I definetely agree that Vick is not one of the 3 best qb's in the NFL. Most people associate running qb's with Vick, when in fact they are not great qb's (Vince Young).

You have made some good points that I did not think of though. It will definetely be a fun battle to watch unfold.

They can work out with anybody they want to as long as no one is getting paid. No problems at all with that. But like others have said I cannot imagine that Ro would be working with just RP, no way Fisher does that to the 2 guys he has been working so closely with the past 2 years. He is not going to just thow them out with the bath water.

I'm not going to say RP isn't going to start as a true-Fresh..... but on the other hand, I'm not going to say that I think he'll sit his first season as a Tiger.

But if RP plays in '05--which is a pretty safe bet (though a matter of HOW MUCH holds different odds). I don't think he starts his very first game as a Tiger. I just don't.

He may certainly play--as could all 3 of our QB's, but I don't think he starts.

    Should RP start?

If he wins the starting job, he should start. If he doesn't win the starting job, he shouldn't start.

The only perfect answer in the thread IMO.
