1. RP says he can do it.

His HS Coach says he can do it.

People who have seen him play seem to believe he can do it.

The fans who have never seen him play seem to be hoping he can't?
  2. Years from now when RP is gazing upon his NC trophy :crystal: while playing for a Dynasty NFL team, no one will remember Mr. negativity starting this ridiculous thread. And if he doesn't obtain that level? no one will care.

I for one hope he does and is everything he says he is.

A QB with a confidant attitude and a certain swagger might be what this team needs. hell I don't care if he proclaims himself chancellor if he can back it up.

Chances are it will make Jamarcus and matt, "catch" another gear and get off their A$$'s and live up to what THEY were touted as being. it damned sure ain't happened yet, but we will see. I hope we have so many dahm good QB's that the NFL calls every ten minutes and bugs the sh1t out of them.
  3. Spot on, sir, spot on! Everything you said is correct...except for that last sentence. Change "years" to "months" and you're 100% correct.

Why, for one, get animated because RP says he wants to get to the pros ASAP? Do you think Nick Saban tried to hold kids back who were eligible and "ready" to make the jump? Have you folks forgotten about the fact that Nick would do everything he could---contact NFL scouts, front office people he knew, etc.---to give as honest and fair of an assessment of where a potential early entrant would get drafted?

RP's "problem" is he says what so many others (teammates included) think. I'm sure many of you won't care for the analogy, but the only ones who really have a problem with guys like Randy Moss, Terrell Owens and now Ryan Perrilloux are fans and opposing players.

Teammates may not care for such talk and behavior, but from nice guy to flaming a**hole, they to a man care about one thing and one thing only about their fellow teammates:

    Can you ball?

If yes, we're all good; if no, we have a problem.

That was Saban's attitude: the best players play, period. At the very least, RP's rep and mouth will drive Russell and Flynn even harder. This time last year everyone and their brother wrote off Drew Brees in San Diego, and he took that doubt and spit it back in everyone's face like a true competitor.

I'm drinking the Kool-Aid, buying the hype, until RP proves to me that I shouldn't. If he's as amazing and talent-laden as he claims to be, and his three or four years at LSU are star-crossed and trophy and championship-laden, then LSU as a program moves up yet another step.

How so? We've proven we can win consistently and win big. Once we prove we can take someone with Heisman-like talent and develop them to their fullest potential--yes, I am talking about a trip to the Downtown Athletic Club---then that's the cherry on top of our "major college power" cake, so to speak.

So, you geaux, RP! Make believers of us all, cause if you do, that means LSU has rings and :crystal: on the way the next few years.
  4. It was also Saban's attitude that freshmen shouldn't talk because they were too immature and unprepared to handle the media.

Perrilloux is proving that is a good policy to have....
  5. I am not negative about JR or MF. I really want the best for the team and them, RP might just be the spark that does it. We can only wait and see.

What's happened with JR has happened, if that's your take on negative then so be it. My observation is based on past performance, based on obvious facts. Your negativity is based on what "MIGHT" BE. A view point which views the future in a negative light is well negative by definition. A viewpoint that sees the past as less than perfect based on individual's performance's is just HISTORY and the reflection of such. It's not negative son it's just a fact. Now go blow your sniveling nose.

BTW: whining about negativity is a misnomer. kind of like double negatives. I say your negative and you are. That's not a news flash around here it's common knowledge.
    SO who's the whiner.

Fightin tiger posting and whining >>>>>>>>>

    JS watching fightin tiger>>>>>>>>>

    have a nice day! :D
  6. Again, FightinTIGER rears his ugly head with nothing but negativity...Bashing players before they ever don the uniform...

I will say this for him, in whatever defense you'd like to consider this...

FightinTIGER is just simply naive...He's naive enough to project HIS thoughts onto others...Especially his thoughts regarding LSU football players, evidently...But, what makes him so pitiful is that he's old enough to know better. He's not a 12 year old...But he has the naivety of a 7th grader...

What I mean is this: FightinTIGER-like the rest of us, but to a lesser degree-feels that LSU should consume a kid's life. The time kids spend or spent at LSU should be the single greatest extended life experience of their existence. The problem is that some kids think "big picture" much earlier than others.

Like me, for example...I WISH I was thinking about my career as an adult and the profession I wanted to excel at by the time I was 18. Trust me when I say my parents who pay some of those student loans also desperately wish I had the foresight that Perilloux already possesses.

But, at 18, I was wondering what the hell LSU would be all about. What classes would I like? Would I be able to get through my required math classes, which I hated with a purple passion? I was also wondering if I could get that prized MWF schedule with the last class only meeting MW so I could get out early on Friday afternoons to beat the traffic back to Denham.

For Perriloux, he has already seen the future, laid out at his feet. He sees it, is aware of it, and while he does want to fast track through the transition to his professional career, he intends to seize his opportunity.

Why would you down a kid for being frank? Why would you down a kid for having a clear idea about what the hell he wants to do with his future?

Why? Well, that's FightinTIGER's problem....That's the crux of what makes him tick. He's SUCH an LSU fan, that he wants them to goosestep, company line the media as soon as he signs on the dotted line. It's somewhat admirable, but somewhat-again-naive. To think that these kids don't have professional aspirations, just like a kid in law school, or an EE program at LSU, or like the GA's on LSU's team don't have aspirations at landing ANY head coaching job, not just LSU's...is simple, pure folly. It's pure, unadulterated naivety...

Don't fault him for it...But ask him this...Would he ever down an 18 year old kid who declares pre-med or pre-law, or goes into LSU and declares a major? Would not any 18 year old smart kid-when asked by someone-respond by saying, "What the hell do you think I declared pre-med for? I wanna be a doctor."

Give him a break, you guys...Forgive him, for he knows not what he says...
  7. I'll start the bidding on how soon RP gets hit by one of our LB's or D-lineman because they, "forgot QB's were not supposed to get hit when they have those red jerseys."

Over/Under is 15 minutes on the first day of practice.
  8. Hell, we were worried that either JR or MF would transfer, but after reading that article, they shouldn't worry because both of them will be battling for the starting job their Sr. season because RP will be in the NFL before JR and MF run out of elligibility!
  9. Classy - risking serious injury is worth "teaching someone a lesson?" Why don't we hook his nipples up to electric shock forks and any time he says something you don't like you can shock him until he wets himself...
  10. It sure did work for this guy...
