Please do not mention a candidate that has been mentioned earlier in the thread.

I would be most disappointed if we hired Mike Riley. I know that he has been an NFL head coach and almost beat LSU, but he has a losing record at Oregon State and with the Chargers.

My main concern is getting a coach that can win and recruit. I don't personally care if he wears a visor or smokes cigars while pulling Mike the Tiger's tail. Just win, baby!

I can't believe that a coach who actually has a losing record as a head coach in college and a losing record as a coach in the NFL is being strongly considered.

There are so many great candidates to me: Steve Spurrier, Butch Davis, Bobby Petrino, Tommy Tuberville, Les Miles, Dan Hawkins, and that is not even mentioning great candidates who have not been a head coach in college like Del Rio, Chow, Crennel, Childress, etc. I don't see the Riley thing.

I would seriously be disappointed if we hired Leach, from Texas Tech. The high powered offenses are flashy, but personally, I prefer a solid running game and great defense.

Getting him to coach us would be on par with Callahan bringing the West Coast offense to Nebraska--oil and water....

    Jimbo Fischer, hands down.

Nothing personal, just too Mike Archer-istic a scenario for my tastes.

Mike Riley is a damn good coach.

Jimbo or Muschamp would be a bad hire, imo.

I say we hire Jimmy Johnson.

I don't want Dennis Erickson, he ran a dirty program and he seems to have lost his coaching touch, plus I don't like the offense he runs. That is the only serious candidate I would be upset with.

Tommy Tuberville. Hands down. If he's hired, I won't attend another football game until he's gone.
