I think it depends on who the TV Networks decide to back. Whoever they back will be the legit poll

What, are you high? Surely you're not serious, at least.

The AP has been putting out polls since 1936! Fans look at this and say, "I grew up watching the AP poll each week. If they dropped out of the BCS, something must be wrong with the BCS." College football is all about tradition, and the average fan gives AP credibility just because it's been around for nearly 70 years. Much as we don't like to hear it, there were many fans last year who thought the AP did the right thing.

This is definitely a pissing match, no question about it.

LSU fans should hate the AP, though. Bastids ranked LSU #2 in the original 1936 poll, right behind Minnesota. :cuss:

I love it ... the BCS is slowly dying.

But I'm sure they'll design another f'ed up system that doesn't include a playoff....

Along with Fox buying the rights to the BCS Bowl games, this indeed does mark the beginning of the end for the BCS as we know it.

    Playoffs by 2008. Yeah!

The official poll is the one that the NCAA says is the official poll.. its all a matter of them growing balls and putting it in the tv contracts...

I agree with TejasTiger. The AP has been recognized forever by just about anyone credible. The problem last year was USuCk not getting in the championship game when they should have.

The AP will still crown a champion yearly and teams winning the AP will always be recognized as a national champion, even if its a co-champion. Like it or not the AP has been the measuring stick for MANY, MANY years.

Micheal moore has been around for about fifty years now so does that give him credibility? The AP has credibility just because it has been around so long? Fidel Castro has been around for over 70 years so now he has credibility? I'm not buying the credibility based solely on the number of years something has been around. In fact I'm calling.....

The NCAA doesn't recognize polls in any sport, and never will....

Guess teams like USC will have to be without their "people's champ" crap...
