I knew Paul Lyons and his brother Pat as well. I helped Pat get a date with my best friends sister. I and other other players from USL and even La Tech would work out with both the Lyons boys in the summer on the Lafayette High practice field. Mac Barrouse (McNeese) and Billy Ryckman (La Tech) would show up sometimes. Tommy Casanova came by once and caught a few passes and played a little DB to help work out the WR's. I and walk on Lou Hebert would be there most workouts. Paul was a devote Christian and more than once tried to convert me. My gut tells me he didn't say that but in that scenario maybe he threw his religion out the window and if so glad he did.

O was asked if he expected the offensive line given they are veterans to perform better than they have. O said he was shocked by how bad the line has been cause two of our guys were on the national title team and they're all veterans so he felt they would actually be the strength of the team he would lean on.

WHAT?!

Did any fan, ANY fan who follows LSU closely feel good about our OL coming in let alone think it was the strength of our team?

Receivers and DL had the most talent so those were the obvious strengths. Everyone I knew was hoping the line would be decent, but it was hope and prayer. Just how do you watch this unit all year long every single day and think you have any confidence in them?!

Shea Dixon reports that Devon Campbell, 5-star and 247's #1 ranked interior lineman, will take an official to LSU. He's from Arlington, TX and 247 currently considers him 100% UT.

The guards are all terrible.

Our NFL LT was kicked out of school for smoking weed and went to Kentucky which forced Cam Wire to play but he's been hurt all year. Rookie Dellenger will be a good one in three years but isn't now. Bradford is immensely talented but always fat. Over 400 at times. Ed Ingram was a stud freshman and he's somehow now our worst lineman. Deculus is a guard on any good line but we are so bad at recruiting he's been right tackle for us the whole time, which is a massive disservice to him.

The guys we've had that were successful made themselves into good players, we've rarely coached them up and we have had terrible Evals while missing on the best prospects.

Cregg got beat for 2 freshman that are starting on the OL for Jimbo. They're bad right now, center Foster and guard Fatheree, but in 3 years they're gonna be studs.

You gotta let OL sit and get into shape and develop physically for years before you play them. Wisconsin usually has guys who are fifth year seniors and almost always have great lines as a result. You go there get developed both technically but also physically and you learn one another as a unit.

We are a mix and match of scavenged parts from various junkyards trying to power the engine of a Tesla cyber truck. It ain't ideal.
