Book description: The 2003 Ole Miss Rebels turned in one of the most memorable seasons in the past 30 years, capped off with a victory over Oklahoma State in the Cotton Bowl. Led by star quarterback Eli Manning, David Cutcliffe's team finished the regular season with a 10-3 record and tied for first in the SEC West Division. Rebel Run follows Ole Miss from preseason practice through their January trip to Dallas. All stories come from the files of The Clarion-Ledger. Packed with nearly 150 full-color photos, Rebel Run also includes columns by The Clarion-Ledger's Rick Cleveland and Rusty Hampton and profiles on receivers Chris Collins and Mike Espy, tailback Tremaine Turner and kicker Jonathan Nichols. Man, I know the expectations at LSU are so high they are often silly, but I had no idea that the expectations at Ole Miss were so low that they publish a book after a 10-3 season with losses to Memphis and Texas Tech... Funny stuff - here is the link. Scroll down and check out the reviews: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/t...f=sr_1_6/002-7212989-0126451?v=glance&s=books
I just hope the cover photo is Manning on his butt with Doug Buckles' massive frame standing on top. Caption: "It's been a hell of a trip!"
uh, there was a book done after our 2001 season with a 10-3 record, but that was winning an outright championship
We won the SEC West, SEC and a BCS bowl. They couldn't even manage to win the SEC West in their best year in over 3 decades.
Everything you fellows are saying is true, BUT you have to realize this is OLE MISS and they have to cling to ANY little SHRED of glory they can. It's the best they can hope for. Sad I know.
LSU made a big to-do about winning two SEC Western Division Co-Championships under DiNardo, but never made an appearance in the SECCG... We didn't publish books about DiNardo, but we did publish a book about Curley Hallman where Tood Kinchen made the quote, "I think LSU is about to enter into its most winningest Era in history." Trust me, we don't have a lot of room to talk... ;-)
agree, we don't....not with those staffs at least. I guess it says more about your current program at the time than anything if that is your summit...??
I don't fault Ole Miss for doing this, no one ever said Ole Miss was some grand college football powerhouse. If the hicks want a book about last season, more power to them. TE does bring up some good points though, take a look at our run in the 90's, it is not that glorious. Still, I rather have LSU's program any day.
At least Ole Miss is stuck on last season. This year is the 40th and 50th anniversary of the Hogs national championship and the "shootout" win over Texas, (Horns Suck) and I swear if I hear "22 straight" one more time I'm gonna.......... It's all over TV, Radio, and even the games. GO HOGS and GO TIGERS
