Aaron Suttles: Tua has a dislocated hip with posterior wall fracture, out for the year. You put 400 or so pounds of meat on a thigh that's stuck in the turf at the knee and the freak blowout at the back of the hip socket just....happens. Similar mechanism of injury as this dashboard injury:
No, just walking without a noticeable limp would be an achievement for most of us! Unlikely that Tua could ever again be a running QB.
Man I hate that for the guy. Don’t ever want to see someone get hurt like that. Great guy and competitor. Hope for a good recovery. Prayers Tua!
A gump just posted this complaint about their schedule: "November almost never seems to be a kind month to us. I sincerely hope that our ptb will seriously consider rebalancing our schedule at some point by moving some conference games around. 3 out of 4 meat grinder games in the final month the regular season is too much." LSU's schedule is a meat grinder set on medium-high all year.
Some reports saying hip dislocation (similar to Bo Jackson though Bo also had an acetabular fracture ... He eventually had to have hip replacement because of avascular necrosis, ie the femoral head lost it's blood supply and the top of his femoral head died). Other reports are saying hip fracture. At any rate, this may be a career ender.
I have a friend whose kid is a bama grad. I received this text from him. Ryan's friend is doctor at hospital where Tua went. Career probable over. Femur went through his hip socket. Like Bo Jackson. Its 3rd hand so take it for what's its worth
Everybody knows tougher than nails. There was a kid down the street in Metry who played for Saban back in the day. We got all the stories. Nothing new there. Anyway, I’ll worry about this once we are able to recruit top QBs to BR, which has been a problem until now. Hopefully, we take advantage of Burrow by showcasing what top QBs can do in this system - and recruit well and easily!
