Let's see what Saban is thinking about the QB situation: http://www.acadiananow.com/sports/html/754C76DE-8F3D-47D2-A6C3-E647D26B0D5E.shtml
A redshirt freshman QB not fully understanding the college game yet ... this is news? 4 TDs and 0 INTs in his first 2 games ... just imagine how good this kid will be when/if he figures out the game!
Let's see... Jamarcus threw the tying TD pass against Oregon State by surveying the field and throwing where the play was not designed. So far I've been very impressed with Russell's command of the field.... A qb should find an open receiver and hit him... Russell seems to have a talent for that.
Well I think him not fully grasping the playbook, or completely understanding the checks and reads is what is keeping JaMarcus from being the only starter. If he bares down now, sometime by midseaon it could be his job.
I'll bet you weren't saying that after Josh Booty's interception against UAB. Saban learned from that even if no one else did.
I really hope Russell starts listening to the coaches more and gets on board. He's obviously a rare talent and could be very special.
Actually its sounds ok to me. JR is having trouble grasping some of the tech. stuff and I hope that improves however the guy has instinct and that's good. Anybody know how Davey was with the playbook. I heard the same sort of talk from fans about Ro.
Well in the games it seems Randall doesn't know the differnence between his head and a hole in the ground. They are getting on to Russell for being an ad lib qb, but while Mike Vick one of the best adlibbers there is gets praised.
