I'll pitch in for the out-of-state fan and the quality/benefit of this FAN site. Any non-televised game and it's thefourth quarter before any radio comes in clearly-a day game and there's nothing. It's is very, very nice to be able to log on and get updates and comments while the game is going on. Then there is the day to day exchange of opinion and commentary. Worth all of my DONATION. To me. IMO

My low tolerance for stupidity has never been more severely tested.
DV, the only reason no one will say anything to your face is because all you show is your ASS! :dis:

    ..

I would not be upset if the all the benifits of the this site were free to all. I do not mind donating money to the site either. I sould have donated along time ago. Frankly I am a little embrassed by the fact that I did not donate before I was asked to do it. I believe the point DV was trying to make was that DandyDon asks for donations but all aspects of his site are available to everyone not just the people that donate money.

    Apples and oranges.

Dandy Don has an information site, not a participatory forum. Plus, Don doesn't offer as many options on his site as Brett does on this one.

If you want to read and post on the LSU sports portion of this forum for free, nobody is stopping you. But I think it's a little unfair for the many who didn't give to share in the same benefits as those who did...especially when we're talking about such a trifling amount of money.

This is the bottom line. If Tigerforums suddenly cost $99.95/year like The TigerRag Insider board, DV might have some support. But for an optional buck an month . . . give me a freakin' break.

True enough, but I believe that Dandy could get hosting for a site like his for about 35$ a year. Maybe a little more if he gets a ton of traffic (since it is mostly text, it would have to be a TON). Looking at his site, I don't see that he uses any special software...

Add the traffic costs and the costs of the software and the costs of this site dwarf Dandy's.
