I agree that age should affect the ability to lead the team. It seems to me that Tennessee did pretty well back in '98.
I hate to admit it, but while I've got him on ignore, I am reading his idiotic posts... You see, Fightin(Insanity)TIGER is running his yap about how people have said that frosh quarterbacks can't have success in the SEC... What he forgets is that since his sorry butt left the site, only to show up for the next football season to act as if he is some Greek Football God high atop Mt. Olympus, LSU has broadened their horizons in terms of what we EXPECT from our football team. You see, we don't want "to succeed in the SEC". We want to WIN the SEC. We don't want to compete nationally. We want to WIN nationally. There has been one...EXACTLY ONE...freshman quarterback in the history of major college football to lead his team to an undefeated regular season...and even he was a redshirt. The year was 1999...The team was Virginia Tech...The player was Michael Vick...and they went 11-0...and they got their asses kicked in the Sugar Bowl against Florida State by a final of 49-26... Peyton Manning didn't win an SEC Title in his frosh year. Neither did Chris Leak...Or Quincy Carter...Or Tim Couch...or Rex Grossman...Or Casey Clausen...Or Wayne Madkin...Or Jason Campbell...Or Eli Manning...Or Romaro Miller....Or Matt Wyatt...Or Herb Tyler...Or Jamie Howard...Or Dameyune Craig...Or Danny Weurrfel...Or Terry Dean...Or Eric Zeier...Or Mike Bobo...Or David Greene...Or Jay Cutler...Or Matt Jones... None of them did...None... Past history is the best indicator of future performance...and I want to WIN THE SEC...I don't think it's in the cards with JaMarcus at quarterback...THIS YEAR. I think we'll win for however long after he stays...But, he's not ready for Georgia's defense. More importantly, neither is our playcalling (IE-Our Offensive Coordinator), nor our offensive line (which is most important)... Someone please tell him that 5-3 in the SEC isn't what we're after anymore at LSU...We're a NATIONAL Power, and not competing for the Conference Crown is not an option...
Tommy HODSON did, even with a loss to Miami (OH). Admittedly, the team has to play better, but there's a lot of football left.
Good call, TE. Don't know where I got the thought that Tee was a RS Freshman. Must be too much red wine. What was Michael Vick the following year?
It doesn't distress the coach and he mentioned it (40+ yard run and one 20 yard pass) and the two big plays we gave up ... THINK ... JUST THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU ARE POSTING :dis: Man, I was Hill's biggest fan on this forum last year and I'm not worried one damned bit about Hill's replacement ... unless he goes to jail after his trail :dis: You wanna talk Lavalais' replacement ... that's the ... expression ... "weakest link" (though I wouldn't call Wroten a weak link). Two missed tackles and two nice (not huge) plays from missed assignments ... people out of position per the coach ... HEY, WE GOT LBs there too to stop the run  Man, we have turned into a really spoiled bunch ... haven't we. Lemme ask you this question? Would you rather have someone asking your question or why does a team like GA Southern run for 302 yards right up our gut? You think LSU has problems ... Rex, watch that GA game this weekend ... then come back Sunday and we'll shoot the ****
See, Fightin(Insanity)TIGER doesn't realize that I agree with him...I honestly think Russell should start...and he should continue to do so... What I disagree with is laying the entirety of the blame at Randall's feet. He must get some of the kudos for scoring a touchdown late in the game. It was his athleticism that led to the score, and he was responsible for the pass (albeit a dead duck) that got them down close to the goal-line as well. What I disagree with is totally ignoring the other problems (like not calling a single blitz from the secondary in the 1st half, and not having developed a single player worthy of taking the field as a backup safety, or the offensive playcalling, which you have actually mentioned-after your initial posts in this thread)... What I disagree with is totally laying it on Randall. PRECISELY what I disagree with, as a matter of fact... ;-) Class was never in session, and believe you me, while on this site I've proved the ability to stay away from Ramah and his sometimes prattling tendencies for the betterment of the site, admit that I'm wrong on subjects that I once believed in, and even AGREE with you on multiple occassions, both in this thread and elsewhere. If anyone's in need of some class, it's you, sir.
