Georgia came into this game with moderate expectations about playing a local in-state favorite. Georgia Southern has won 6 national titles at their level, and it figured to be a showcase event for both teams.

Brian Van Gorder had to set up his defense differently because of several suspensions due to misconduct during the off season.

The Georgia defense will be pretty good in spite of the wishbone juggling act of this past week.

The Georgia offense is much improved.

Danny Ware was the first Freshmen to start at tailback for Georgia in over 60 years. I don't know what Richt was thinking, but he let Ware run for 3 TD's and 135 yards. Ware must have some pretty special skills as Richt has stated outright that Ware, a true freshman, is clearly way above the rest of his backs.

Overall, Georgia has a much improved team primarily because the OL now has some experience. The OL was totally comprised of Freshmen and Sophomores last year.

The receiver corps is much more deep this season.
Richt even played A J Bryant last week at flanker. A 4.3 freshman who was a standout HS QB.

I know you guys probably don't want to hear this, but this is very likely the year of the Dawg..!!

Good points. Some of that though I think was OSU's fault too. They were obviously getting tired having nowhere near the depth that LSU has and tried running the clock out early in the third by running the ball which they do not do well at all. I think that made it easy for the LSU defense. But I guess they really didn't have a choice. By the end of that game (obvious by the 2 huge pass plays in a row to tie the game) they just couldn't hang anymore.

I don't doubt LSU's defense is good. Far from that. I just don't think they are AS good without Lavalais. He was the best player on that D last year by far, at least against UGA.

Absolutely! I just didn't appreciate that "overrated" remark coming from a UGA fan whose team gave up 300 yards rushing to a D-2 school. first games amost always look sloppy and full of mistakes.

It was just in response to Ramah incessant trash talking. We can agree that neither team was perfect and hopefully both will be in the top 5 on Oct. 2nd. :)

Sure, we do agree, just forget all that other nonsense. those two teams undefeated on Oct. 2 .... could it get any better?? The atmosphere of that game would be as good as it gets in college football. i know I wouldn't sell my tickets for $500 each. hope we do our part and you guys do too.

You didn't struggle ... they kicked your asses for 300 yards rushing

There was no struggle ... you got bent over the stump for 300+ yards ... this from a team with no passing game whatsoever ... and a Div1-AA team at that

Georgia is going to get punked rushing all season long by balanced attack offensive teams ...

they can wiggle and grunt all they want about it ... but they'll squeel like pigs (deliverance style) when they face the big boys
