I told you fuggers this about 5 years ago, and took a lot of shit. We need to forget the "athlete" and go with the smart passer. Character guy. That is it. That is the fucking alpha and the friggin omega. There is nothing else. To paraphrase Stephen Hawking, who in turn paraphrased Herman Goering, "When I hear the word "athlete," I reach for my Browning. It is that simple. We got 21 athletes. We need just one passer. BOOM. To keep it real, "We got 99 solutions to problems, but the QB ain't one." HIT ME!
^^^This and the proof was last year. A true pocket passer and we moved the ball at will. If we would have had a defense last year we would have been in contention. We ran and threw at a record setting pace last year with a QB cam could work with.
Leslie doesn't want that type of offense. He abhors a passing offense that only uses the running game to be balanced.
And as we all know there in lies the problem. I can't tell you how enjoyable it was to watch our receivers play apart in the offense last year.
That goes 180° against the Les Miles philosophy and is not an option. You're living in an alternate reality if you think Les Miles is going to start seeing the offense as anything other than an extension of the defense. The offense to Miles is the second string defense. Anything other than an ultra conservative, run first, run second and run third offense is not an option as long as the athletic administration gives him free reign. Without stern intervention from someone above Miles this is what you will get 9 out of 10 years. Like someone stated earlier, the LSU offense is the place where 5 star athletes dreams come to die! Les Miles will not change and the LSU offense will not change unless Alleva grows a pair and issues an ultimatum. It makes absolutely no difference what recruits LSU brings in or what offensive coordinator Miles hires, nothing changes without an iron fisted directive from above him.
There may be a list of things he had at okie state or elsewhere, I'm speaking of what he has had here.
It may not be that he hates passing the ball, just that he sucks at managing QBs and hates turnovers.
