No, he got many opportunities to display his lack of toughness in Miles' offense.

If he had the toughness of a say Robert Royal (Former LSU player), no telling what he could have done. Royal has had a number of good years in the NFL.

Dickson did excel while he was here.

His soph year he had the 32 catches which is only 2 less than the record by a TE in LSU's history. 2nd on the team in rec TDs.

The year afte the championship season he basically matched that production and added All SEC honors. (1 less catch, like 50 less yards, equal amount of TDs)

He was the most productive TE in LSU's history stat wise.

Not sure what your criteria is for "having good years" in the NFL, but Robert Royal has had a lackluster career, to say the least.

I would venture to guess at least 80 percent of LSU fans could not tell you what NFL teams Royal has played for.

relatively speaking to LSU's history, yes

But in the big scheme of things, those were "decent" years by a TE at the collegiate level, nothing that would turn NFL Scout's heads. And it certainly didn't in his case.

Bottom line, we'll never take full advantage of an elite TE's ability with Les Miles as head coach. It's not part of his offensive philosophy. Therefore, you will NEVER attract an elite TE to LSU.

First of all, maybe Brockers should have been called Freak based on those measurements.

Next, I would be fine with our TE production similar to what Dickson accomplished.

I just checked and noticed that Robert Royal was a 5th round pick that played in the NFL for 10 years. I think the point being made was that DeAngelo Peterson could have a similar career and earn a nice living if he had the same toughness as Royal. The Rohan to Royal TD on the 1st play of OT against highly ranked Tenn is the play that started this current Golden Era of LSU football.

If you spend 9 years in the NFL, I'd call that good. Look at the average time spent in the NFL as a Pro player. The average age of retirement in the NFL, 28, Royal at 32, has done well. I hope some team picks him up.

Trivia: You know the former LSU player that has played for the most NFL teams?

Hint: These are the teams he played for.....He too played 9 years.
Chargers, Cardinals, Dolphins, Jets, Rams, 49'ers, Bills and Bucs.

As for Career Receiving leaders at a school, look at bama, the guy thats third on the list was Ozzie Newson (TE), with over 2,000 yds.

    Any word on Will Blackwell?

I do not believe he was invited to the combine. Does he have a shot to get drafted?

Very good shot to get drafted. Teams just don't spend a great deal of time evaluating Guards. Even if he doesn't get drafted, he'll get a shot. Probably a few shots quite frankly.
