This is a great question, and not easy for me to answer. I generally don't think we should disown a player solely for on field performance. I figure he wore the purple and gold and was probably trying his hardest. However, when you consider JJs last two seasons, and then getting arrested and suspended before his senior year, I think he is very borderline on being disowned This is really largely Miles' fault. He left JJ in the game to fail many times when a trip to the bench probably would have made him a better player in the long run. Because of Miles' poor handling of the QB situation, JJs horrible play is ingrained in our memory and it is really hard to let that go.
True, it was almost like we were a team of destiny...................... and then JJ comes back in the middle of the year, and the story of redemption is abruptly shut down
Great post, and I really like the Motley Crue reference  After the SECCG, I was "rockin in Atlanta at Tattletails"
+1 That's why I have a lot of hope for Steven Rivers. He grew up around quarterbacks all his life, and I bet he already has a knowledge and feel for the game that JJ will never have..... LSU!
I think he acts like that because he is so insecure and the constant criticism and booing mess with his head. But this is big boy football, and he never really had "the chest" to get the job done
All I have to say, I would have rather lost with Lee starting and jj comming in than jj starting and playing the whole game. I really think Lee got screwed. I mean, bama lost the first game, but it was mcarron who came back to nc.
"I mean, bama lost the first game, but it was mcarron who came back to nc." you meant LSU WON the first game. or LSU Beat Alabama on their own field in game one. Bama didnt lose it. LSU beat them in front of their own crowd on national TV. Let us not forget that accomplishment our team managed this year.
Had JJ stepped up to the microphone after the NC game and said....."I was unprepared for the moment, and played my worst game as a Tiger" ......we could have moved on a lot quicker, and his efforts would be remembered as part of a very memorable and successful, albeit, disappointing season. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. And well....you know the rest.
