I guess I should have put a :milesmic: behind my remark. I was only being facetious with that comment. I hate the option at LSU. JJ NEVER ran it well from day one. I sure hope that Miles really did not go by the game tape with GSU vs Bama as a format for gameplanning for BamaII. IF he did he is an idiot. Teams like GSU and Wofford (right here in little old Spartanburg, SC) make a living out of running the option and do it very well. You can't learn that in 33 days. Our offense showed improvement when we had the better downfield passer, Lee, in the games this season. I am willing to bet that our Offense will be better, by default, next season, even if we keep the Studthorpe offense we have right now based on better QB play. I's still like to see a real OC on board to blend with the real DC, Chavis we have already.
Since Sean Payton is busy leading the Saints to another Super Bowl, let's be a little more realistic: Pete Carmichael(the Saints current OC). I'm being serious.
IF we get a new OC, and notice I said IF.....then we need to look to the NFL. IMHO these gimmick style offenses that a lot of the high school teams and college teams employee would be quickly exposed against good defenses. (Ask Gus Malzahn about this)
