1. 2012 has been quite a year.

And the news just got a lot better. Deion Jones changed his commitment from Nebraska to LSU today. Although a 3 star currently, he may be the most exciting LB recruit in the entire class. He likely gets bumped to a 4th star. His nickname is "Debo".

Deion Jones runs a legit 4.4. He's the smaller faster LB that Chavis covets. He's going to be a perfect fit.

We still have shots at top 5 Louisiana prospects Denzell Devall and Lorenzo Phillips. Both will play LB.

We could end up with 6 or 7 potential outstanding LBs in this class (* Rating listed).

    Already committed
    **** OLB/DE Torshiro Davis 6'3" 225 lbs (#2 LA Rivals prospect, #8 Dandy Don)
**** OLB Ronnie Feist 6'1" 215 lbs (#8 LA Rivals prospect, #14 Dandy Don)
    **** MLB/RB Lamar Louis 6'0" 220 lbs (#11 LA Rivals prospect, #11 Dandy Don)
*** OLB Trey Granier 6'1" 225 lbs (#17 LA Rivals prospect, #3 Dandy Don)
*** OLB Deion Jones 6'2" 210 lbs (#17 Dandy Don)

Good chance for commitment (at least one, Devall most likely)
    **** MLB/DE Denzel Devall 6'2" 240 lbs (#3 LA Rivals prospect, #2 Dandy Don)
**** OLB Lorenzo Phillips 6'2" 210 lbs (#4 LA Rivals prospect, #4 Dandy Don)

Note: Torshiro Davis or Denzel Devall may play DE (think Sam Montgomery) and Louis could play RB. But with all the RBs on this team, I would think Louis plays LB instead.

Edit: Devall looks to be projected to DE, although could still end up at LB
  2. Awesome, Pelini must be pissed!
  3. Somebody working for Scout recruiting services tweeted a few days ago that Jones was still solid to Nebraska. :hihi:
  4. Late LSU offer.
  5. I think you have Davis and Devall backwards. Devall wants to play some LB but mainly concerned about rushing the QB. He eventually ends up at DE and fairly soon IMO if he lands in this class.
  6. Thanks for the clarification. I know both are kind of hybrid type players that could potentially play either position.

We won't know until we see how they handle things in summer/fall camp.

I just love the flexibility in these kids.

Just like Mingo, who we had a good feeling he was going to make a great DE rather than a LB, and now here he is killing it as a DE.
  7.
  8. He's not that small and he's probably going to add some weight to his frame. A coaching buddy who has seen him play says he reminds him of Bradie James. He'd make a good MLB when he does throw on the weight.
