I just wanted to say look at Tom Brady's game today. He is uncomfortable behind his offensive line just like Jarrett was last night. Jarrett will be back strong.

Les has committed to JL and JJ. I think JL stays the starter. I think Miles will respect the fact that JL got us this far and not switch that formula. JL has earned that much this season and Miles will want to re build some confidence. I think JJ is more effective running the play action offense (same as JL does) and using his feet to escape when pocket breaks down. I think JJ becomes more ineffective as we go to the read option. I do not know why the coaches do not see that same thing as well?

I got bashed earlier in the season when I said JL and JJ have reached their potential as QB's. The true bottom line is that neither one is stellar or any where near elite or any where near going to play on Sundays. Againts elite competition, like Bama, I would have expected them to struggle because they are not elite QB's. Good news is that we do not play teams of Bama's quality every week and JL and JJ should get us to where we need to be by season's end. I will say, though, that our best QB is riding the pine and I wish Mettenberger would have goten more work this season because I think the difference in ability level between Mett and JL/JJ would have been obvious.

Personally I think Lee still starts....but I think the snaps will be split more 50/50 but whoever shows they have the hot hand will be rode a little more during the game......but both will get significant snaps.

I think you are right. With Alabama's LBs, JJ was the best option unless Lee could hit some of his WRs against them.

All three should play the next few weeks, but we'll need JL for Arkansas, IMHO.

I am going to go in the opposite direction than most. I think that JJ deserves to start until he is unseated on the field. He has beaten out his competition yet again and should be the starter. JL melted down again. JJ did not this time.

JJ should be given the reins and be allowed to sling it around a lot more than he has in the past few games. He should be given the opportunity to run the full offense to see if he can do it (much like he was supposed to do at the beginning of the season). Remember, he was supposed to be the starter at the beginning of the season and I highly doubt that they had planned to use him as a run run run QB like they have in the last few games since he has been back (well, actually they planned to use him as a run run run QB against Bama, but that is a different story). If he can run the full offense he is clearly the better option at QB. I think he has earned the chance to try against the Sisters of the Poor and against Ole "Sisters of the Poor 2" Miss. See where that gets us and then go into Arky with JJ if he can get it done in the previous two games or go with Lee if he has shown that he still has his head on straight after that devastating Bama game.

I think that whatever happens, I will trust Miles to do the right thing for these players. If it means giving Lee another chance or giving JJ what I think he deserves, that is fine by me. I don't know these guys. I don't look in their eyes on the side lines and talk with them one-on-one in my office. Miles will do what he thinks is right.

I think it just depends on the team we're playing. Obviously jj's wheels were a better advantage agaisnt bama's big but slow lb's. He can escape the pocket when needed. But DON'T forget what Lee's done this year. 13 tds only 3 picks. He had one off game, and hey some of his passes were ugly, but he was getting pressured a lot, and I think that eventually got to him, as it would ANY QB. We wont see a true featured QB (as weird as that sounds) until next year with Mett. So whoever "starts" is pretty irrelevant because both will play a lot.

That's silly talk. Lee won 3 games for us himself last year, under a TON of pressure. Not counting the situation he was put into at the beginning of the year and he was still successful.

The problem wasn't Lee was nervous, the problem was lee was trying to force passes against a defense that wasn't allowing anything over the air. Bama was in the exact same situation, they just didn't have a running QB to turn to.

"Jefferson didn't exactly set the world on fire. I don't think Les messes with the formula much. Everybody expected Jefferson would play more versus Bama because that well-balanced defense required a running QB threat. We're not going to see another defence with no weaknesses."

These two post sum it up. It took both qb's to beat Bama as we don't have one superstar that can do it against this Defense. Bama had a good game plan for Lee and our coaches also handicapped him a little. Lee was 3/7 with 24 yards and 2 picks, JJ was 6/10 for 67 yards and a sack. Neither guy set the world on fire. JJ had the second most running yards with 11 carries for 46 yards and that is what was the difference in these two guys. Together these guys threw for half of what McCarron did.

For some reason we did not try any screens or wheel routes to our backs or curls to our tight ends. This would have given both qb's an opportunity to succeed against the tight coverage. The throws by Lee were down field where picks are going to happen. Lee does panic and floats balls from his back foot. It is what it is and for a couple more games we will live with it. JJ can't hit the broad side of a barn down field and we will live with that too. But both of them together make a decent qb.I think it stays the way it is until next year.:geaux:

Yeah .. last year, many of us felt the same way about Lee. He deserved to start last year until he was unseated.

Didn't happen that way .. and I don't expect it'll happen that way this year either. If it does, CLM will prove he is a bigot, giving JJ every opportunity to succeed while pulling the plug on Lee at the first chance. I don't think CLM is a bigot, and as such, I don't think it'll go that way. I would be really dissappointed if CLM yanks Lee and relegates him back to last years status. If he does, I can see AR beating LSU again this year. .. simply because they will outscore us. [yeah Bama only put up 6, but WVU put up 21 .. which is a better comparison to AR's skill set than Bama].

CLM likes his two QB gig. for the very reason that we saw last game. The Lee paradigm wasn't working out too well against Bama. They miminized the runs out of the backfield, they were bringing pressure, and the DBs had the receivers covered up. JJ came in with the option gig and the ability to gain yards out of the pocket, but to say the least, that type of offense doesn't and didn't produce a lot of points.

I look at the two paradigms ... Lee Starting/JJ comming in vs JJ starting/Lee comming in. There is no doubt that the former has produced a more potent offense. We have to consider .. Bama's Defense had a lot to do with Lee's performance. Tyler Wilson, a superior passer to Lee didn't have much luck either, and he threw the ball 35 times. He only gained 185 yards on 35 attempts with 1 int ... Lee gained 23 yards on 6 attempts with 2 ints .... and most of Lee's passes were down field passes, not the little slants and screens that get you extra yards on the run.

Felt bad for him early on. He got rattled under the pressure and I didn't think he would. We lose that game if not for the backup.
