Danielson is a talking head. Maybe he did have discussions with officials, and maybe that's what they told him. But that isn't how the rule is written. I know what he said, but him saying it doesn't mean squat. FWIW, as I've stated, I think the rule is ridiculous. But by the letter of the law, Wing broke the rule. It is what it is...and it's funny at this point. Maybe it'll be for the good in the end...when they review this and see how ridiculous it is.
They need to take lessons from Randle. Dude NEVER has ANY expression on his face! Quite funny, actually...
It's gonna take the TD taken off the board costing a team a game before it's reviewed. The rule was fine the way it was, TD counts, 15 yards tacked on to the kickoff return.
I agree. It is not justifiable to take points away for something that had no direcet impact on the player scoring or not. The new rule is definitely overkill.
Exactly. It's bullsh!t because it rewards the team/defense that was so far away from the dude they were supposed to tackle that he had time to taunt them.
FIFY. That's why this thing doesn't bother me much. The Mighty Florida Gators have the distinction of being the first recipient of this stupid rule, because they found themselves in position to be taunted by a friggin PUNTER!! Oh, how the mighty have fallen...
