    1) pressure smith
take smith's ability to pass out the game and wvu is toast.

    2) mix it up
lee has shown aginst moo u that he can throw the ball. If they stack the box, pass, pass , pass

    3) lay the wood
the physical play of lsu was too much for uo and will be too much for wvu. Make the wvu receiver pay for catching the ball

    4) win the trenches
we win the big man fight on the line and we run over them and make smith's life a living hell

    what's your take?:tigereye:

Get on top of them quickly, get the hayseeds quiet quickly...
If we allow them to stick around by kicking FG's (See Miss State) or like last year we can introduce trouble.

Get on top quickly take away their hope, get up 24-3 or something and then pound the ball run the clock and get the hell out of there....

If we get into a hornets nest where they the fans are firing their guns in the air and the Jug band is going crazy in the stands. We may have a fight.

Offense staying on the field. Similar to Oregon, WVU has a rhythm offense, if LSU's offense stays on the field and Geno and his receivers sit on the sideline and dont get into a rhythm it will be bad for WVU. Also, WVU will be beaten down by the fourth quarter and the LSU ground and pound will dominate.

However, I dont expect any team to get into a rhythm against LSU's nasty defense, regardless of how long the LSU offense stays on the field.

I think one of the keys to running up the score is for us to get down to their 20-30 yrd line faster than we did against MooSt.

Someone made an excellent point ... we pounded our way down to the redzone, and yes, it gassed their defense, but it also gassed our O-Line.

CLM is going to have to open up a bit more, be less predictable, use a bit more pass between the 30s, then ground and pound the ball into the endzone. That, IMO, will be the difference between a bunch of FGs vs TDs.

Other than that, as CLM said, .. "we just need to play LSU defense".

BE PHYSICAL PHYSICAL PHYSICAL!! get pressure on geno smith play tight coverage bump their recievers off the line. WVU does not have much of a run game they count on geno smith and those small speedy recievers, to do a lot of bubble screens and quick slants, they try to get the ball out of geno's hands quick. Get pressure on smith, hit him a few times and starts getting happy feet.

With LSU playing Oregon and having a game plan for them it plays right into our hands.
After watching WVU Maryland they run just about the same exact offense except they run it more... which could very well be worse for WV.
I say we be aggresive on defense (as usual) and keep pressure on their QB.
We should establish the run early on offense and help grind out a W in the second half.
Don't need a 200 YPG from Lee in this game, just make good decsions, no pics, manage the game on long, time consuming drives.

WVA is one dimensional so far this season. They pass, pass, pass, try to get off a mis direction run from time to time and hope they gash the defense if out of position. Tight man coverage and tackling the WR's well is key. WVA runs those 5 yd pass plays and hope the WR can turn it into 12 yds. Again, as has been said before, our preparation for Oregon will help a lot. For LSU, we need better play calling in the red zone. We need to continue to run outside the tackles and use Ware and Ford's speed. Lee will need to throw for over 200. WVA will stack the box and attempt to take away the run, as will every team we see from here on out. Our coaches have got to let Lee keep chucking the pigskin downfield.

I agree with all of this and believe we will accomplish each goal. I said it about Miss St and I'll say it again. West Virginia will have they're lowest offensive output of the year. The whole year. We will beat them up from start to finish. No homerism. Just the painful reality for WV this year. The emergance of Freak will take our D to the next level which is scary. He is getting better every game. The atmosphere will be crazy but that won't last long. LSU 35 WV 17(at the most)
