I think the LSU D will out physical them and beat them up some more. But if we don't get a better pass rush MSU will put some points on the board. If the LSU O can puts points on the board and keep applying the pressure LSU's D will be able to pin their ears back and force some TO's. It could be a blow out, but I'm not counting on it.
Hope we can come out swinging and put some points up on our first possesion and/or cause a 3 and out for MSU. The cowbells will be ringing and the crowd pumped but if we come out hot and quiet them down it could get ugly for MooU. LSU 35-MSU 17:tigereye:
We have to break their backs just as we broke the ducks down in the 3rd qtr in Dallas. I don't know if we have the offense to come back from a 14 pt deficit but I know we have the defense to hold a 14pt lead aginst anyone. This is states season. If they lose they can kiss Atlanta goodbye. They will come out swinging. If we play flat and turn the ball over we will lose. If we play like we did aginst uo , no team can beat us.
I would normally agree that it will be a close game, however the offensive line for Moo U will not be able to withstand the pounding LSU's defensive front will undoubtedly give them. In fact, I'm not sure Godzilla could take that. Tigers by 2+ TD's when it's all said and done.
Here is a quote from an article I read: The Tigers certainly have Mississippi State's attention. The Bulldogs suffered a heartbreaking 41-34 loss at Auburn on Saturday as quarterback Chris Relf was tackled a yard shy of a tying touchdown on the game's final play. The Bulldogs piled up 531 yards against Auburn on 97 offensive snaps, and LSU will be facing a dangerous offensive team with its back to the wall. "We have to jump right back into preparation for this game," Mississippi State Coach Dan Mullen said. "We can't dwell too much on last week. We have one of the best if not the best team in the country coming in here to play for our home opener. I think state will be ready to play. LSU should be able to handle them as long as they take care of the ball.
I won some mad money this weekend off the awbrun/mittittippi tate game. Everyone jumped on the state bandwagon after they beat up on a pitiful Memphis team who went 1-11 last season. I KNEW awbrun wasn't going to play as bad as they did against eeewwtaw state. So when the odds came out and awbrun got 6 1/2 pts I placed some "friendly" wagers with some kool-aid drinkers and took home some play money. State's offense is improved from last season and they have definitely improved team speed. There's no denying that. However, their defense is horrible and I don't see this being much of a game. Even though the state faithful will be all jacked up that only will last a few series of the first half then everyone will be brought down to reality.
I disagree, this is MSU's season right here. They lose they are back to mediocrity, they win and the are in the driver seat for many of their goals. Also lest us not forget the LSU offense is not exactly "vaunted" so we cannot get into a shootout. Also LSU had to have a freak goal line stand to beat them last time in Starkvegas. (Man twice that has happened to them). So I think this game is not only a trap game but a game that will be won late in the 4th quarter. The next two games have me very worried. Not because LSU shouldnt win, they should. they are clearly better on paper. But as we have ALL experienced recently that doesnt mean squat (See UNC, Tennessee, etc etc) of last year. Couple of turnovers, or dumb play here and MSU is in the game their fans are going nuts. Could be trouble. If LSU is going to win they need to jump on them quick, get them out of their plan and get all the hayseeds with the cowbells to check out. Might be a different story. Let them hang around or take a lead into the 4th trouble for us.
Their defense will absolutely crumble under y'alls running game. I'm telling you that LSU's defense will not have to be a juggernaut to put up points on the dawgs defense. A good running game will be sufficient. Don't bet against me. I'm good. :thumb:
I agree. I am not as scared of the next two games since I've seen everyone play this year. MooU nor WVU impressed me after watching our tiger D dominate and our Tiger O control clock and tempo. I don't think it matters too much how bad MSU wants to win and prove something, after last weeks pounding they can't go 4 qts. with a fresh LSU. If we take care of the rock we win easy.:tigereye:
