Relf took a lot of hits and will take a lot of hits on Thursday night with that offense. He floats his passes down field, watch out for Reid and Taylor next week. Losing their OT will be a big loss.
And with LSU's near bye week tonight, we're going to be a lot better off physically than MSU. If we come to play, it could be a total slaughter.
I don't see this as a dumb thing, either. If our coverage team is fast and gets down there, I'd rather not just hand the ball to folks on the 20. The '03 NC team almost never kicked it to the endzone, either--and they won the field position battle over and over.
I hope the Tigers don't play like its a bye week... Last time we played like that I remember having no fingernails left after we played Troy 2 years ago.
I agree, but that '08 team was a beaten one at that point (and even then wouldn't allow Troy to beat us), but THIS Tiger team is hungry and mean. I don't see that happening.
I've got to believe he thought the AU D-line was gassed and he could make the necessary yardage in 2 plays, but yeah, that's pretty bad with no time outs. With 7 secs left, you MAY be able to get 2 plays if the 1st pass is incomplete. AU keeps winning by the skin of their teeth and it's so frustrating to people like me that can't stand them. (No offense AU posters).
I would imagine that Auburn gets back into the top 25 after this game, where they'll presumably stay until we play them. Question is, will Moo stay in the top 25 so that we have another ranked opponent notched in our belt?
Personally, I'm happy Moo St. is heading back to the cellar of the West where they belong. After next week they will be 0-2. And while AU's O looked good, it really doesn't concern me for when we play. This is the SEC you have to show up every week, if we do I like our odds no matter who we play!
