Defense is returning several players that are projected to be drafted high in the NFL draft. Plus our defense is returning a lot of players from last season. So the logical progression is they will be better. We are very deep at running back, very talented at WR and return all of the OL except Carpenter. So the perceived only question mark is at the QB position.

Bama is definitely stacked but the QB position is the single most important position. LSU fans know the difference between a 2-3 loss season and a championship season was dependent on the QB (Jefferson vs. any other QB than Jefferson)

13 of those 19 years include the winningest coach in their school's history.

Well, McCarron performed well enough that I'm not ready to go ahead and hang 3 losses on our record before we play the games. Statistically he had 2 int's but the second one was completely on the wr. Ball hit him square in the hands at chest level and he missed it and went directly into the defenders hands behind him. But McCarron showed me enough that I'm not ready to give up on a title run this season. Our defense is better than last years so we'll see.

If it makes you feel any better Alabama is ranked 23rd in passing and LSU is ranked 110th

Until Mississippi State becomes consistent, I can't help but think they are at best your normal South Carolina team. They may beat a LSU or Alabama, but theyll probably choke against an Ole Miss type of team.

That is just it, they shouldnt be ranked that high. They also have offensive line issues.

LOL!!! Thanks. But I'm looking more for ball security, making smart decisions and simply managing the game. McCarron has the tools to put up some big time passing numbers but that's not what I'm really concerned with. We've got all the other pieces in place from a defensive standpoint and running game standpoint that we don't need for our qb to be the "Peyton Manning" of the SEC. I'd be happey with a "Jay Barker". ;)

This poll doesn't mean sh*t. I'm not gonna worry about it til the first BCS poll comes out.
