In that AP poll, LSU is voted 4th or worse on many a ballot by my calculation. With the 17-9 disparity in first place votes over Bama, LSU should be about 30-40 points clear of Bama, instead it's a mere 6.

I don't see you voting LSU any worse than 3rd with good conscious.

That's interesting. I had 1. Bama, 2. LSU, 3. OU. In fact, I think OU is over-rated and would probably drop them down, probably even past BSU. At any rate, it sounds like Bama and LSU seriously respect each other right now. That's the way it ought to be. While I went to LSU, my two brothers had full-ride scholarships at Bama. Should make for a very interesting weekend.

I saw a dude cruising out here today with a Bama flag on his car. I had my LSU cap on. Had I not been on the phone, I would have yelled out to him and called attention to the big game. The buildup to this will be incredible if we both come in undefeated! :)

I was sick to DEATH of weather delays in all of those games this weekend! I can remember sitting my happy rear end out in lightning storms 4 or 5 times a season as a kid when my dad coached. One time, it was so bad that the aluminum bleachers buzzed every time we saw a strike.

    Good times...

Actually, that Sooner team met Kansas State before they made it to the big game. For the love of all that's holy, we SHOULD have played USC in that game!

LSU Dominates Oregon, Should Be Number One Team in the Country : Outkick The Coverage

LSU came to Texas and did what LSU does -- the fans drank heavily and the team won a big*football game. Saturday morning at a downtown Dallas hotel, a bellhop threw up his arms in dismay. His luggage cart had been commandeered by LSU fans -- instead of luggage the cart was loaded down with beer, coolers, and liquor. "I don't care what they put on these things as long as they tip," he said. Twenty minutes later the bellhop was singing a different tune: "We can't move any luggage in," he said, "because the LSU fans keep bringing in more beer."
In a hotel bar my friend Shekhar, an East Coaster in town for the game who spent the previous weekend in Boston, turned to me after what seemed like the thousandth gorgeous LSU*girl in a row had walked past, "There are more good looking girls in this bar than the entire city of Boston," he said.
His tone wasn't one of hyperbole. He was dead serious.
    And he was dead right.
On a blistering hot day in Texas that felt far too warm for it to be football season, LSU laid claim to being the nation's best football team. That's what beating the number three team in the nation does for you when the top two teams play weak competition, it makes you the best. At least in the antiquated, confusing, perception-based business that is college football today. If Oregon is truly the third best team in the nation, then what is LSU? A team that pimpslapped the Ducks around the field like, well, like a pimp in the French Quarter angry that his prostitutes were short-changing him would do. Or like Mike Leach would do to Craig James if he ever saw him in public.

And there's more. The duck has gotta read this....

    10. When LSU scores to go*up 30-13, I halfway expect to look down on the field and see LSU fans carrying Oregon's cheerleaders*up the aisles on the way back to Baton Rouge.*

    How bad is it getting?
LSU fans, who have been able to keep drinking beer and liquor inside the stadium, start chanting overrated with*eight mintues remaining in the game.
Maybe the Tigers should*get in bar fights before every game. *

We've seen this story before. Beat up on cupcakes, get stuffed by physical defenses...

I know, I know, and Tulsa gave up points and yards by the dozens and hundreds last year. I'm not saying they should be ranked ahead of us, but I get it. I'd rather not be #1 anyway.

Bama and LSU are extremely similar across the board. Both have dominating defenses, loaded at RB, talented at WR, and pride themselves on physical play. I give LSU the nod right now due to playing better competition in the opening game and being more stable at the qb position at this stage in the season.

I don't mean to break up yall's luv fest for Bama .... but I think we need not lose sight of some other significant teams. ... specifically Arkansas.

I think the Hogs are the most underrated team in the league at the moment. I don't think Bama beats AR. Line up their stats from the last two games, and Bama doesn't show up as some sort of super powerhouse. AR also doesn't have any issue with the QB position ... and Tyler Wilson is just as much a threat as Mallet .. in fact, I'd say more so [Mallet never really impressed me]. Losing Davis hurt a bit, but they still have a couple of very capable RBs. And Joe Adams is as good as any in the league. I will not be suprised if we meet Bama with a X-2 record ... L's to MS and AR.

If AR gets past MS, and beats Bama [which is very possible] .. I can see LSU and AR playing for the gold in the last game. And we have a past to look at with regards to that game .... it is never an easy win lately.

I also don't think Mississippi State is going to be a push over either. MState host the girly boys this weekend ... and I just don't see the GBs beating MState.
