This is why you (LSU) needs TAMU in the SEC. This is exactly how we feel about awbrin. :thumb: Its a beautiful, but sick, relationship. :insane:
I don't blame TAMU for the the Big 12 meltdown, nor Colorado, nor Nebraska. I blame Texas. The massively unequal revenue sharing that Texas insisted on, with its own network was bound to eventually anger other teams enough into leaving. Texas was just not far sighted enough to realize that a rising tide raises all ships, or a sinking tide lowers all ships, even the expensive ones. Whether TAMU leaves the Big 12 now or not, the Big 12 is going down, unless it can fix its revenue inequalities. P.S. Did you know the PAC 10 had unequal revenue sharing? Fixing that was one of many innovations by commisioner Scott, and the PAC 12 now shares revenue equally. (The guy is a genius.) P.P.S. I think a disintigrating Big 12, and a massive reorganization of leagues will benefit the PAC 12, as it is clearly a conference on the rise, due mostly to the absurdly good leadership of Scott. Teams will want to join us.
Yep, I'm a firm believer you can only focus on one thing at a time and do it justice. I can see how this will make LSU a kinder more compassionate rival.
I know many may not believe this but I tell this to a lot of my friends who are LSU fans. I simply do not have the energy to get as jacked up about the LSU/Bama game as I do the Tenn and Auburn game. And all I get is "You just skeered, you know you hate us just as bad as them." But the truth is I'd love to, but two big time rivals is about all I can muster my "hate energy" up for each season. I guess I'm gettin' old. I think the TAMU rivalry will bring more balance to the rivalry family in the SEC. Ole Miss has Miss St., Florida has Georgia, Bama's got UT and AU, and LSU you realistically have Arky and TAMU. Good fit. :thumb:
But tamu will always hold that type of hate towards Texas. What annoys the hell out of me, is rather than tamu fans put their own stickers or alumni decals on their vehicles, they put broken longhorn's or "saw em off" stickers. If its a t-shirt you wear on game day for that game, understood, but all season long and in between seasons??? I mean root for your school dip****, dont hate on someone else because you cant beat them or ever be as good :dis:
That's what we like you to think . Seriously, your probably right we won't have as much haterade in our system when we play ya'll, won't lose any passion or competiveness though!
Like I said, the Alabama game is business. It's not that personal. Sure we like beating saban but we have gotten over that. Miles has chosen lsu not once , not twice but three times. Once when he took the job and twice telling big blue no. He's our coach and saban isn't that big of a deal anymore. Beating Alabama is what we need to do to get to Atlanta. That's where a lot of the rivalry comes from. That and the asz kissing Alabama gets from the press. Even when Alabama loses there are media types that make excuses for them. It's a pisser when the media still plays you guys up even after we beat you. That's why it's so rewarding to us to beat bama. Really , I think lots of lsu fans dislike auburn more than bama. Remember them stomping out the eye in tiger stadium. Everyone hates auburn. It's easy to do. Tamu will be just another auburn just a lot more gay looking.
I wouldnt even give them that much credit, they will be another Moo U :thumb: I will admit, the love shown to Bama gets pretty annoying at times. OU and tOSU get the same love, its pretty bad.
Maybe this will be a chance to fix that "permanent opponent" travesty. LSU gets Fla. the toughest east opp. 99% of the time. I'll biggest rivals for the west, Bama and Auburn, get easier draws.
