Who gives a $hit what Saban said. He is just pandering to the gumps. I dont see him running his mouth at all. You expect him to say "this is it, one and done"? This is a stupid gump topic.
"He left the Dolphins in horrible shape (even worse than Lane Kiffen) and wouldn't think twice about leaving Alabama if the right opportunity came along." He sure left the Saints in great shape by passing on Drew Brees didn't he !!!! :hihi:.
I agree. And if the truth be known, it probably is just the beginning. Saban has the ability to establish a real dynasty at Bama just as he could have done here had he not gone to Miami. Love him or hate him, he is a great coach. You have to give him his due.
First 5 years on the job at their respective schools Urban Meyer 2005-2009 -- 57-10 (85.1%) -- 2 SEC Titles, 2 National Titles Pete Carroll 2001-2005 -- 54-10 (84.4%) -- 4 Pac 10 Titles, 1-2 National Titles Bob Stoops 1999-2003 -- 55-11 (83.3%) -- 2 Big 12 Titles, 1 National Title Mark Richt 2001-2005 -- 52-13 (80.0%)-- 2 SEC Titles Jim Tressel 2001-2005 -- 50-13 (79.4%) -- 2 Big 10 Titles, 1 National Title Les Miles 2005-2009 -- 51-15 (77.3%) -- 1 SEC Title, 1 National Title Mack Brown 1998-2002 -- 49-15 (76.6%) -- none Saban (LSU) 2000-2004 --48-16 (75.0%) -- 2 SEC Titles, 1 National Title First 3 years on the job at their respective schools Les Miles 2005-2007 -- 34-6 (85.0%) -- 1 SEC Title, 1 National Title Jim Tressel 2001-2003 -- 32-7 (82.1%) -- 1 Big Ten Title, 1 National Title Bob Stoops 1999-2001 -- 31-7 (81.6%) -- 1 Big 12 Title, 1 National Title Saban (Bama) 2007-2009 -- 33-8 (80.5%) -- 1 SEC Title, 1 National Title Mark Richt 2001-2003 -- 32-8 (80.0%) -- 1 SEC Title Urban Meyer 2005-2007 -- 31-8 (79.5%) -- 1 SEC Title, 1 National Title Pete Carroll 2001-2003 -- 29-9 (76.3%) -- 2 Pac 10 Titles, 1 National Title Mack Brown 1998-2000 -- 27-11 (71.1%) -- none Saban (LSU) 2000-2002 -- 26-12 (68.4%) -- 1 SEC Title
If Saban goes 24-2 (92.3%) over his next two seasons at Bama (2010 and 2011), then he will tie what Urban Meyer did during his first 5 years at Florida (57-10 record): First 5 years on the job at their respective schools, assuming Saban goes 24-2 (92.3%) over the course of his 4th and 5th year at Bama Urban Meyer 2005-2009 -- 57-10 (85.1%) -- 2 SEC Titles, 2 National Titles Saban (Bama) 2007-2011 -- 57-10 (85.1%) -- 1-3 SEC Titles, 1-3 National Titles Pete Carroll 2001-2005 -- 54-10 (84.4%) -- 4 Pac 10 Titles, 1-2 National Titles Bob Stoops 1999-2003 -- 55-11 (83.3%) -- 2 Big 12 Titles, 1 National Title Mark Richt 2001-2005 -- 52-13 (80.0%)-- 2 SEC Titles Jim Tressel 2001-2005 -- 50-13 (79.4%) -- 2 Big 10 Titles, 1 National Title Les Miles 2005-2009 -- 51-15 (77.3%) -- 1 SEC Title, 1 National Title Mack Brown 1998-2002 -- 49-15 (76.6%) -- none Saban (LSU) 2000-2004 --48-16 (75.0%) -- 2 SEC Titles, 1 National Title
Re: Saban running his mouth: “This is the beginning.” So... You're saying two, maybe three years?:hihi:
Just a thought John and I mean no flame by saying it... LSU is 8-8 in conference play the last two years. Perhaps, just perhaps, your focus needs to fall in the lines of introspection versus extrospection? Just sayin'... Have a good day.
